    摘要: A mining apparatus that works a horizontally and longitudinally extending seam having a vertical face formed by an upper hanging wall and a lower foot wall has a longitudinal row of walking props extending along the face and each having a roof-engaging cap and a floor-engaging foot. A lower longitudinally extending long-wall mining machine juxtaposed with the lower foot wall is mounted on the floor-engaging feet and is provided with an endless lower drive chain having a forward reach extending along the lower foot wall and a rear reach extending parallel to the forward reach. It also has a conveyor trough underneath the rear reach and extending longitudinally along the face and cutters and scrapers on the chain for scraping material from the lower foot wall, depositing it in the trough, and pushing the material longitudinally along the trough. An upper long-wall mining machine juxtaposed with the upper hanging wall above the lower machine is mounted on the roof-engaging caps and is provided with an endless upper drive chain having a forward reach extending along the upper hanging wall and a rear reach. Cutters on the chain scrape material from the upper hanging wall and deposit it in the trough of the lower mining machine. The trough is positioned below the upper machine to catch material scraped from the face thereby.

    摘要: To increase the height of operation of a shield type roof support an attachment is fitted to the floor sill or to each of a pair of spaced-apart floor skids. The attachment has side walls with bores for receiving pivot pins used to link the attachment to the floor sill or skid and to guide levers connected to the goaf shield. A transverse body extends between the side walls and defines a socket for forming part of a ball-and-socket joint connecting the attachment to a hydraulic prop. The side walls of the attachment have under surfaces which rest on a support surface of the skid or sill near the working face.

    摘要: A mineral mining installation includes a longwall conveyor and a plurality of roof support units positioned side-by-side on the goaf side of the conveyor. The conveyor is braced longitudinally by a block bracing system having a plurality of hydraulic bracing rams each of which is disposed at an acute angle to the conveyor. The bracing rams act between the conveyor and floor girders of the roof support units. Each bracing ram is attached to a respective floor girder by means of a bracket. Each bracket has first and second bracket parts welded together, the first bracket part comprising means for connecting the bracket to its floor girder, and the second bracket part forming an extension of the first bracket part and carrying a pivot joint member for pivotally supporting the cylinder of the associated bracing ram. The first bracket part is a standard cast member, to which second bracket parts of differing lengths can be welded.

    摘要: A mine roof frame with a roof girder to which a goaf screen or fender is pivotably suspended. A bracket assembly composed of a series of parallel shaped webs welded between two plates is attached to the roof girder. The lowermost plate carries a guide piece having a bore therein slidably receiving a spigot inclined in relation to the vertical and horizontal. The spigot has a support shoe which engages the fender to retain the latter in a working position. A shear pin extends through the guide piece and the spigot and the pin is designed to fracture when the fender is subjected to excessive loading to cause the spigot to slide inwardly of the guide piece to thereby allow the fender to pivot inwards to a near vertical position.
