Abstract: The optical communication system includes a transmitter including a display panel which has a curved surface and is capable of emitting light, and a transmission controller which causes the display panel to emit light representing an information signal; and a receiver including an image sensor which receives the light emitted from the display panel, and a reception controller which extracts the information signal from the light received by the image sensor. The display panel may be a transparent display panel which allows background light to pass through.

Abstract: A light-emitting element includes: a light-reflective first electrode; a light-emitting layer above the first electrode; a light-transmissive second electrode above the light-emitting layer; a first light-transmissive layer on the second electrode; and a second light-transmissive layer on the first layer. First optical cavity structure is formed between surface of the first electrode facing the light-emitting layer and surface of the second electrode facing the light-emitting layer. The first optical cavity structure corresponds to, as peak wavelength, first wavelength longer than peak wavelength of light emitted from the light-emitting layer. Second optical cavity structure is formed between the surface of the first electrode facing the light-emitting layer and an interface between the first layer and the second layer. The second optical cavity structure corresponds to, as peak wavelength, second wavelength shorter than the first wavelength. The first and second layers differ in refractive index from each other by 0.3 or greater.

Abstract: Disclosed is an organic EL display panel including: a substrate; a planarization layer being disposed on an upper surface of the substrate and containing a resin material; plural pixel electrodes being disposed in a matrix manner on the planarization layer; a light emitting layer being disposed on the pixel electrodes and containing an organic luminescent material; and a common electrode covering at least an upper side of the light emitting layer and being disposed continuously in a plane direction. A recessed part is opened to extend in a column direction in at least one gap between the pixel electrodes adjacent to each other in a row direction on the planarization layer, the common electrode is disposed continuously in the recessed part, and a power feed auxiliary interconnect extending in the column direction and formed of an applied film is disposed on an upper surface of the common electrode.

Abstract: A light-emitting panel includes a plurality of pixels, a plurality of first regulators, and a plurality of second regulators. The plurality of second regulators extends in the second direction and defines each two of the pixels that are adjacent to each other in the first direction. The plurality of pixels at least includes a first pixel and a second pixel that have different lengths in the first direction from each other and share a light-emitting layer. The first pixel and the second pixel are at least adjacent to each other in the first direction with the second regulator being interposed between the first pixel and the second pixel.

Abstract: A display apparatus includes pixels two-dimensionally arranged. Each of the pixels includes a light-emitting element, a capacitor which retains a voltage of a data signal, a drive transistor which feeds a current according to the voltage of the data signal to the light-emitting element, a first write transistor connected between a data signal line and a gate electrode of the drive transistor, a second write transistor connected between the first write transistor and a gate electrode of the drive transistor, and a counter transistor including a source electrode and a drain electrode, one of the source electrode and the drain electrode being connected between the first write transistor and the second write transistor. The other of the source electrode and the drain electrode of the counter transistor is connected to a counter voltage line which feeds a counter voltage.

Abstract: A display includes a display panel, a shock dispersion layer, a strain relaxation layer, and a shock absorption layer. The shock dispersion layer is provided on a light-extraction side of the display panel and has a Young's modulus of 50 GPa or greater. The strain relaxation layer is provided between the shock dispersion layer and the display panel and has a Young's modulus lower than the Young's modulus of the shock dispersion layer. The shock absorption layer is provided between the strain relaxation layer and the display panel and has a storage modulus of 10 kPa or greater and 1 MPa or less at a room temperature.
