Abstract:
A system is disclosed providing accurate compression, storage, transmission and reconstruction of both simulated and empirical data representing terrain and other physical or hypothetical signals or surfaces, in one or multiple dimensions. In one embodiment, a gradient of an original surface is generated, and the data representing that gradient is compressed, then stored and/or transmitted. Reconstruction of the gradient yields an accurate representation of the original gradient. An alternative embodiment includes taking a second gradient of the original surface before compression, in which case reconstruction yields the second gradient, from which the first gradient can also be recovered.
Abstract:
A network entity located in a first network using a first protocol, the network entity supporting at least the first protocol of the first network and a second protocol of a second network. The network entity comprises a receiving unit for receiving data packets according to the first or second protocol, a mapping table for storing addresses according to the first and second protocols, an address determination unit for determining a destination address for a received packet from the mapping table, and a routing unit for routing the received packet in accordance with the determined destination address.
Abstract:
A reversible seat assembly for use in an automotive vehicle has a seat cushion, a seat back and a bolster. The seat cushion extends between a front end and a rear end. The bolster is operatively coupled to the seat cushion for movement between a deployed position when the seat back is adjacent the rear or front end of the seat cushion and a retracted position when the seat back is between the rear and front ends of the seat cushion to allow the seat back to rotate between a forward-facing seating position and a rearward-facing seating position.
Abstract:
An improved head restraint is provided for a reversible seat that is movable between two use positions, namely a forward-facing position and a rearward-facing position. The improved head restraint automatically pivots to a fold flat position upon unlocking of the seat, wherein the head restraint is positioned in this fold flat position during reversing seat movement, so as to reduce the seat height and clear the vehicle headliner. The head restraint is cable driven and operably connected to the seat linkages that control movement of the seat cushion and seat back during reversing movement. As such, the seat movement articulates the head restraint so that the head restraint angles forwardly toward the occupant in the forward-facing position and rearwardly toward the occupant in the rearward-facing position, while permitting the head restraint to automatically articulate to the fold flat position during travel of the seat between these two use positions.
Abstract:
The invention discloses a 3D printed nasal sinus drug delivery device setup. The device includes a nasal cast model that were 3D printed based on individual patient's CT scan, and a delivery set up that comprises rubber/silicon molds that water-tightly connect common irrigation devices to the nasal cast model, as well as colored food dye added to the water for better visualization of irrigation results. The setup will allow patients to perform nasal irrigation trials on their own in home settings that can define optimal parameters according to the personal disease characteristics to achieve personalized optimal irrigation and drug delivery outcome. The setup has the advantages that once optimal irrigation delivery parameter is achieved, it can be record and implemented by the patient so that the treatment outcome can be improved. The use of the invention is convenient, fast, and noninvasive; no toxic or side effects exist.
Abstract:
A device which accesses a video capturing equipment into a next generation network is disclosed in the present invention. The device includes a setting module for reading image formats supported by a video capturing equipment, setting a captured image format of the video capturing equipment according to the image formats and storing the captured image format; a receiving module for receiving an image; a format determining module for reading the stored captured image format; and a converting module for converting the received image from the corresponding image format to an image format supported by the next generation network and outputting the converted image to the next generation network. A method for accessing a video capturing equipment into a next generation network is also disclosed in the present invention.
Abstract:
Apparatuses and systems for photon detection can include a first optical sensing structure structured to absorb light at a first optical wavelength; and a second optical sensing structure engaged with the first optical sensing structure to allow optical communication between the first and the second optical sensing structures. The second optical sensing structure can be structured to absorb light at a second optical wavelength longer than the first optical wavelength and to emit light at the first optical wavelength which is absorbed by the first optical sensing structure. Apparatuses and systems can include a bandgap grading region.
Abstract:
A method for preventing Spam over Internet Telephony (SPIT), includes: a terminal receives a call request of a calling user; the terminal sets an identifier of the calling user into a SPIT reporting request upon receipt of the call request; and sends the SPIT reporting request to a server in response to an instruction of a called user that the call request is the SPIT.
Abstract:
A liquid crystal display device includes an array substrate, a color filter substrate, and a liquid crystal layer provided between the array substrate and the color filter substrate. The color filter substrate includes a substrate, a plurality of color filter units provided on the substrate in the form of matrix, and a black matrix pattern including a lateral structure and a longitudinal structure. The black matrix pattern is provided between the array substrate and the color filter substrate and partially contacts with the array substrate to block light and maintain a cell thickness between the array substrate and the color filter substrate.
Abstract:
A disc harrow composed of one or more disc gangs has a subframe coupled to the disc gangs to move the disc gangs in response to variations in farmland terrain to limit the impact of obstructions when encountered during the harrowing process. When the obstruction is cleared, the subframe automatically returns the disc gangs to their pre-obstruction position. In addition to reducing the potentially-damaging impact of obstructions, the subframe also maintains a more consistent reel depth during undulations or changes in the farmland terrain, such as during harrowing of slopes or unleveled fields such as valleys, near waterways, and along fence rows.
