Abstract: Device for cooling flat rolled material with a liquid coolant has at least one cooling bar, which is arranged above the conveying path and to which the liquid coolant is fed. A plurality of outlet tubes have, in a flow direction of the liquid coolant, an initial portion, which proceeds from the inlet opening and extends upward, a middle portion, which adjoins the initial portion, and an end portion, which adjoins the middle portion and extends downward and to the output opening. The middle portion contains a vertex at which the coolant flowing through the outlet tube in question reaches a highest point. The outlet openings are located above the cooling bar. A height distance (h1) of the inlet opening from the vertex is at least twice as large, in particular at least three times as large, as a height distance (h2) of the outlet opening from the vertex.

Abstract: A rolling device (1), a method and a rolling train (35) for the cold rolling of rolled stock (3). The rolling device (1)-a rolling stand (5), multiple assembly sets for optionally assembling the rolling stand (5) with one of the assembly sets, and a working-roll drive. Each assembly set comprises two working rolls (7, 8), and for each working roll (7, 8) two working-roll chocks (9). A spindle head (11), can be connected to a working roll journal (16) of the working roll (7, 8). The working rolls (7, 8) of different assembly sets have different working-roll diameter ranges, which are determined by a respective minimum working-roll diameter and maximum working-roll diameter. The rolling stand (5) has mountings (19) for a respective working-roll chock (9) of an assembly set. The working-roll drive has two drive spindles (27), each for driving a working roll (7, 8) via the spindle head (11) assigned to the working roll (7, 8) by rotations about a longitudinal axis of the drive spindle (27).

A flap drive (10) for positioning the upper duct flap (9) such that, when the coiling swing arm (4) is lined up with the coiling mandrel (3), the upper duct flap is arranged between the coiling mandrel (3) and the front pressure roller (5) of the coiling swing arm (4) or is arranged upstream of the front pressure roller (5) of the coiling swing arm (4). In the first-mentioned case, the metal strip (2) is deflected around the coiling mandrel (3) only by the rear pressure roller (6) and the deflection plate (7) of the coiling swing arm (4) and, in the last-mentioned case, additionally also by the front pressure roller (5).

Abstract: A cooling bar (1) for cooling rolled material (5) being moved in a transport direction (3) and in particular for reducing temperature differences in the temperature of the rolled material (5) transversely to the direction of transport (3). The cooling bar (1) has several full jet nozzles (11) by means of which a coolant beam of a coolant with an approximately constant jet diameter can be distributed to the rolling stock (5) in the direction of distribution (15). A cooling device has at least two cooling bars (1) of that type. The cooling bars extend transversely to a transport direction, one behind the other. Each cooling bar has a respective different pattern of jet nozzles and selection of applicable pattern of jet nozzles in their respective bars selectively cools the rolled material transversely to the transport direction.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for the direct reduction of oxidic iron carrier particles to a reduction product in a fluidized bed through which a reduction gas containing 30-100 mol % hydrogen H2 flows in crossflow. At least 90% by mass of oxidic iron carrier particles introduced into the fluidized bed have a particle size of less than or equal to 200 micrometers. The superficial velocity U of the reduction gas flowing through the fluidized bed is set between 0.05 m/s and 1 m/s such that, for the particle size d equal to d30 of the oxidic iron carrier particles introduced into the fluidized bed, it is above the theoretical suspension velocity Ut and is less than or equal to Umax.

Abstract: A device for capturing and transmitting data of a bearing of a steel mill or rolling mill includes a sensor with a data processing unit arranged in a bearing housing capturing and storing data of a bearing. A data transmission unit in the bearing housing wirelessly transmits data of the sensor to a remote receiver. An energy receiving unit in the bearing housing receives energy wirelessly and transmits it to the data transmission unit and the data processing unit. An energy source with an energy transmitting unit arranged outside the bearing housing supply the energy unit wirelessly. The energy transmitting unit is covered by the bearing housing and is arranged on or in a structural part which adjoins the bearing housing and is part of the supporting structure of mill and remains on the supporting structure of the mill when the bearing housing is removed for maintenance purposes.
