Abstract:
Provided is a method of preventing an unauthorized publication of a media object. On receipt of a user request to prevent an unauthorized publication of a media object, a video link is established with the user. An image of the user is received from the video link and a determination is made whether the image of the user correspond with an image in the media object. Based on said determination an action is performed with regard to the unauthorized publication of the media object.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the present invention provide an electronic device, comprising a first display and a second display arranged to display a region of the first display at an increased magnification.
Abstract:
Various example embodiments relate to a mechanism for writing feedback to a personal repository accessible to a personal computing device. The mechanism may receive a request for writing feedback of a user of the personal computing device regarding a particular item to the personal repository. The mechanism may also store the feedback of the user regarding the particular item in the personal repository. In addition, the mechanism may send a response to an incoming query from a personal computing device controlled by a peer of the user regarding the feedback of the user stored in the personal repository. In some embodiments, feedback contained in the response to the peer may be constrained by repository access permissions specified for the peer by the user of the personal computing device.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a method and computer program product of determining the relevance of at least a part of an electronic document comprising a plurality of terms distributed over a plurality of regions of said document, comprising displaying the electronic document to a user; determining the gaze characteristics of the person on a region of the electronic document; assigning a relevance score to an individual term in said region based on said characteristics; and generating a term relevance label for said electronic document, said term relevance label comprising relevance scores for the respective individual terms in said document The relevance scores may also be used to define a user profile for the user that can aid in retrieving future documents of relevance to the user.
Abstract:
Determining the reasons for packet loss in a wireless local area network; such as an IEEE 802.11 network. The method uses the strength of received signals at a wireless station, such as the received signal strength indicator (RSSI), noise levels (e.g, non-802.11 energy in the 2.4 GHz frequency range), and packet loss information together to determine the network status. In most implementations, the 802.11 implementation (e.g., the 802.11 driver) is responsible for maintaining statistics on the RSSI and the noise whereas the measure of the packet loss is the responsibility of the application. The network status is determined by the endpoint station independent from the access point.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus to manage power consumption in wireless devices are disclosed. A disclosed example apparatus comprises a motion detector to detect motion, and a wireless modem to perform a background scan when motion is detected.
Abstract:
A system and method for transmitting voice data traffic over a wireless medium, such as a voice call using a wireless Internet Protocol mobile phone on a wireless local area network, to increase the quality and the number of voice calls on a Basic Service Set. Endpoints are capable of dynamically switching to alternate voice coding profiles. The WLAN is surveyed by a wireless endpoint to determine whether a congested network condition exists. Coding profiles may be dynamically switched to decrease the congested conditions and improve call quality. If dynamically switching of profiles in not available then the wireless endpoint gracefully degrades the transmission by periodically dropping packets until network congestion reduces and/or call quality increases.

Embodiments of the present invention provide an electronic device, comprising a first display and a second display arranged to display a region of the first display at an increased magnification.
Abstract:
Apparatus such as a PDA with screen can be used to enter data in cooperation with a physical form. The method may include identifying a part of a form on which the apparatus is placed as part of a form stored in the apparatus and displaying a corresponding image. Data may be entered, for example using a touch screen, and both displayed on the screen in the corresponding form and stored in a corresponding data record.
Abstract:
A method of organizing data, comprising receiving an image from an input device; recognising content in the image; and selecting, based on the content, a destination for at least one of the image and the content.
