    摘要: A fixing device includes a fixing unit, a power supply unit, a pressure applying unit, and a controller. The fixing unit fixes toner onto a recording medium, using heat generated by a heat generator. The power supply unit supplies power to drive the fixing unit. The pressure applying unit applies pressure to the recording medium in a nip part between the pressure applying unit and the fixing unit. When plural recording media are sequentially transported, the controller controls the power supply unit to supply power during a first time period from when a trailing edge of one of the recording media passes the nip part to when a leading edge of the subsequent recording medium arrives at the nip part, in accordance with a relationship between the first time period and a second time period required to start the supply of power after the supply of power is stopped.

The fixing unit fixes toner onto a recording medium transported in a determined transport direction, by using heat generated by a heat generator. The power controller controls supply of power for heating the fixing unit. The pressure applying unit applies pressure to the recording medium in a nip part formed between the pressure applying unit and the fixing unit. The timing controller controls the power controller to start supply of the power at a time which is a determined time period prior to an arrival time at which a leading edge of the recording medium in the transport direction arrives at the nip part.

    摘要: A fixing device includes a first rotation member, a fixing member, a determining unit, and a magnetic field generating unit. The first rotation member rotates around a first axis. The fixing member includes a second rotation member which rotates around a second axis while being in contact with the first rotation member, and which generates heat by using electromagnetic induction in an alternating-current magnetic field. The fixing member fixes an image onto a medium in a region where the first rotation member and the second rotation member come into contact with each other. The determining unit determines whether or not a current state is a certain state where the medium or an image formed on the medium is passing through the region. The magnetic field generating unit generates an alternating-current magnetic field in a space including the second rotation member.

The rotatable device includes a stator having a plurality of electrodes and a rotor having a plurality of electrodes opposed to the stator electrodes. The rotor is rotatably provided on the stator and is driven by an electrostatic force generated by selectively applying a voltage to the stator electrodes while supported in a non-contact state with the stator. The mirror preferably has a single mirror surface and therefore can be driven at a high deflecting speed.

    摘要: An apparatus is disclosed for projecting patterned electromagnetic waves onto an object. This apparatus includes: an electromagnetic-wave source; a modulating element allowing at least part of an electromagnetic wave incoming from the source to be modulated; and a selector for allowing a selected one of angular components of an electromagnetic wave outgoing from the modulating element, to pass through the selector. The modulating element is shaped to include at least one pair of two portions having different surface shapes. One of the two portions allows one of the angular components which has a radiant angle characteristic that achieves a predetermined entrance numerical aperture, to go out as a component which will be selected by the selector. The other allows one of the angular components which has a radiant angle characteristic that does not achieve the entrance numerical aperture, to go out as a component which will not be selected by the selector.

    摘要: In a three-dimensional shape detecting system comprising a three-dimensional shape detecting device and an external calculating device, the three-dimensional shape detecting device includes: projection means which projects pattern light onto a subject; image data obtaining means which captures a pattern light projection image of the subject and thereby obtains image data of the pattern light projection image while capturing a pattern light non-projection image of the subject and thereby obtaining image data of the pattern light non-projection image; pattern light position extraction means which extracts a position of the pattern light projected on the subject based on the obtained image data; and three-dimensional shape calculation means which figures out three-dimensional shape data of the subject based on the position of the pattern light extracted by the pattern light position extraction means. The external calculating device includes image correction means which corrects the pattern light non-projection image into a plane image in which the subject is observed from a direction substantially orthogonal to a prescribed surface of the subject based on the image data of the pattern light non-projection image and the three-dimensional shape data obtained by the three-dimensional shape detecting device.
