Abstract: A camera system may include one or more voice coil motor (VCM) actuators to implement focus, tilt and shift functions. The VCM actuators may include coils segmented into multiple coil segments having individually impedances lower than the impedance of the respective coil as a whole.
The coil segments may be individually driven by respective currents at different points in time to interact with magnet(s) to produce motive forces along the same axis. Based on the winding configuration and driving mode of the coil segments, the motive forces may move a lens group relative to an image sensor in a direction substantially orthogonal to an image plane, tilt the lens group relative to the image sensor, or shift the image sensor relative to the lens group on the image plane.-

Abstract: Power consumption of touch sensing operations for touch sensitive devices can be reduced by implementing one or more coarse scans to coarsely detect the presence or absence of an object touching or proximate to a touch sensor panel and dynamically adjusting the operation of the touch sensitive device to perform or not perform one or more steps of a fine scan based on the results of the one or more coarse scans. In some examples, the fine scan can be scheduled, and one or more steps of the fine scan can be aborted when no touch is detected at touch sensors scanned during the one or more steps. Sense channels unused due to the aborted fine scan steps can be powered down during aborted fine scan steps.

Abstract: A touch controller that can configure touch circuitry according to a scan plan, which can define a sequence of scan events to be performed on a touch panel is disclosed. The touch controller can include a configurable transmit section to generate stimulation signals to drive the panel, a configurable receive section to receive and process touch signals from the panel, and a configurable memory to store the touch signals. The touch controller can also include a programmable scan engine to configure the transmit section, the receive section, and the memory according to the scan plan. The touch controller advantageously provides more robust and flexible touch circuitry to handle various types of touch events at the panel. An active stylus that can generate stimulation signals that can be detected by the touch controller during various touch events at the panel is also disclosed.

Abstract: Power consumption of touch sensing operations for touch sensitive devices can be reduced by implementing a coarse scan (e.g., banked common mode scan) to coarsely detect the presence or absence of an object touching or proximate to a touch sensor panel and the results of the coarse scan can be used to dynamically adjust the operation of the touch sensitive device to perform or not perform a fine scan (e.g., targeted active mode scan). In some examples, the results of the coarse scan can be used to program a touch controller for the next touch sensing frame to idle when no touch event is detected or to perform a fine scan when one or more touch events are detected. In some examples, the results of the coarse scan can be used to abort a scheduled fine scan during the current touch sensing frame when no touch event is detected.

Abstract: Described herein are sensing arrangements for a camera module that include a position sensor, a temperature sensor, a driver chip, and a multiplexer. The position sensor has a first bias input and a first set of terminals. The temperature sensor has a temperature-sensitive resistor, a second bias input, and a second set of terminals. The driver chip includes a bias output connected to a bias current source and a set of inputs for receiving a voltage signal. The multiplexer is configured to selectively connect the position sensor or the temperature sensor to the driver chip, such that, the bias output is connected to the first or the second bias input, respectively, and the set of inputs is connected to the first or the second set of terminals, respectively, thereby causing the voltage signal received by the set of inputs to indicate a position or a temperature of the camera module, respectively.

Abstract: A camera may include an actuator driver system comprising at least two drivers to generate current for individual coils of one or more actuators of the camera. One driver may act as a primary driver, whilst the other may serve as a secondary driver. The primary driver may receive at last one command signal from a host and at last one measurement signal from a sensor. The primary driver may determine command current for the individual coils according to the command and measurement signals. The primary driver may distribute between the two drivers signals indicative of the determined current for the coils. Accordingly, the first and second drivers may respectively generate the current for the corresponding coils connected with the drivers to move at least one lens and/or an image sensor of the camera.

Abstract: Various embodiments include a light source module with one or more light emitters and one or more light sensors that share an aperture via which light passes. One of the light sensors may measure illuminance received through the aperture (not illuminance from the light emitters) and send a signal indicating a measurement of the illuminance. The light source module may be integrated into a portable computing device having a controller. The controller may include logic to perform one or more device operations based on the measurement of illuminance, such as, but not limited to, controlling a device display brightness and/or controlling an auto exposure feature of the device camera. Calibration parameters for interpreting the signal may be determined via a calibration process.
