Abstract:
In an embodiment, a method sets an image capture device to one of a plurality of available operational modes for the image capture device. The method comprises determining an angle of pitch orientation of the image capture device, and setting the image capture device to the one of the plurality of operational modes if the angle of pitch orientation is within a predetermined angle range associated with the one of the plurality of operational modes.
Abstract:
An exemplary user interface for a digital camera has a non linear configuration to provide a more ergonomic control function for a user of the camera. The interface may take the form of a touchpad and, in one exemplary embodiment, may be used to control camera zoom.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a system and method for assisting in tone composition of an image. Briefly described, one embodiment comprises receiving light information corresponding to light detected by a plurality of pixels, analyzing the light information to determine a light value for each of the plurality of pixels, determining contour information, the contour information corresponding to a plurality of groups of adjacent pixels, wherein each group of adjacent pixels is characterized by a unique predetermined range of light values, and communicating the contour information to a display.
Abstract:
A system and method for displaying image composition templates with preview images is described. One embodiment comprises analyzing at least one characteristic of a preview image, determining a nature of the preview image based upon the analyzed characteristic, selecting an image composition template corresponding to the determined nature of the preview image and displaying the selected image composition template concurrently with the preview image.
Abstract:
A system and method for providing orientation information for a frame of a video clip is described. One embodiment comprises capturing an image with an image capture device, generating a frame having at least image data corresponding to the captured image and sequence data indicative of a frame position in the video clip, sensing an orientation of the image capture device at the time the image is captured and incorporating the orientation information corresponding to the sensed orientation into the frame.
Abstract:
According to one embodiment, a method is shown for improving image capturing ability, the method comprising electronically analyzing captured images to determine variations from accepted image criteria, electronically analyzing the determined variations to determine a pattern of determined variations, and providing an indication of relative image capturing performance.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a system and method for capturing images. Briefly described, one embodiment comprises a digital camera, the digital camera comprising at least a photosensor; and an enclosure configured to receive the digital camera, configured to have at least one feature controlling operation of the digital camera, and configured to capture an image using the photosensor of the digital camera.
Abstract:
A centrifuge rotor cover assembly for use with a centrifuge having a rotor and a housing enclosing the rotor and including a lid movable between a closed position overlying the rotor and an open position providing access to the rotor. The cover assembly includes a rotor cover removably coupled to the lid. Means are provided for engaging the rotor cover with the rotor for rotation therewith and for uncoupling the cover from the lid in response to the lid being moved to the closed position. Means are also provided for disengaging the rotor cover from the rotor and for coupling the cover to the lid in response to the lid being moved to the open position. In another embodiment of the present invention there is provided a locking centrifuge rotor cover that includes a locking mechanism having at least one locking element which engages a locking portion of the rotor so as to lock the cover onto the rotor, the locking element being responsive to centrifugally induced forces during rotation of the rotor for increasing the locking force between the cover and rotor. In a further embodiment of the present invention there is provided a centrifuge rotor cover locking hub which includes a hub housing having an upper portion and a lower portion, the upper portion being supported by the lid and the lower portion being adapted to releasably support the cover. A locking mechanism is disposed within the hub housing which locks the cover to the rotor in response to the cover being engaged with the rotor.
Abstract:
A method of processing a plurality of digital images arranged in a preset order in a digital imaging device in response to user input includes determining a user scrolling direction in response to user scrolling inputs, at least partially deleting a displayed image in response to a user image deletion input, and based upon the determined scrolling direction, displaying at least a portion of the next image in the scrolling direction after the deleted image unless the deleted image was the first or last image in the preset order.
