Abstract: Provided herein are systems and methods for measurement and compensation of display panel current leakage and/or display panel noise. A pixel data signal is received at sensing and compensation circuitry. Current leakage compensation circuitry compensates for current leakage of the display panel in the data signal, while panel noise mitigation circuitry configured to reduce panel noise from the data signal. After compensating for the current leakage and reducing the panel noise, the data signal is provided to downstream circuitry for subsequent processing.

Abstract: An electronic device includes one or more unit pixels and threshold voltage (Vth) sensing circuitry. The threshold voltage sensing circuitry senses Vth of the one or more unit pixels, by: sampling a charge of a capacitor of the one or more unit pixels, transitioning from the sampling, and reading out the threshold voltage based upon a change in the charge of the capacitor, such that an operation of the one or more unit pixels may be modified based upon the threshold voltage.

The device includes light-emitting-diode (LED) voltage (Vled) sensing circuitry, that senses Vled of the one or more unit pixels, by: sampling a charge of a capacitor of the one or more unit pixels, transitioning from the sampling, and reading out the Vled based upon a change in the charge of the capacitor, such that an operation of the unit pixel may be modified based upon the Vled.

Abstract: An electronic device may include a transceiver, an antenna, and a front end module (FEM) coupled between the transceiver and antenna. Components on the FEM may operate on radio-frequency signals. The FEM may include a digital controller with a leakage management engine. The leakage management engine may monitor power supply voltages received by the FEM. In response to detection of a trigger condition, the leakage management engine may power off a set of the components while at least some of the FEM remains powered on. The trigger condition may be a change in the power supply voltages or a host command received from a host processor. Using the leakage management engine to power off the set of front end components may serve to minimize leakage current on the FEM, thereby maximizing battery life and shelf life for the device, without the use of bulky and expensive external load switches.

Abstract: An electronic display includes emission clock routing without the use of repeaters. This may be accomplished by providing row drivers for each emission clock signal on opposing edges of the display panel, so that each set of row drivers may provide the emission clock signal to only a portion of the micro-drivers in each row. The array of micro-drivers may be further segmented (e.g., into four or more sections, an alternating pattern, uneven sections, etc.) to provide similar advantages. Furthermore, rather than using multiplexors to provide the emission clock signals to the row drivers, the emission clock may be hardwired to the row drivers. This may reduce the number of pins and support the provision of more phases.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for differential sensing (DS), difference-differential sensing (DDS), correlated double sampling (CDS), and/or programmable capacitor matching to reduce display panel sensing noise. An electronic device may include one or more processors and an electronic display. The one or more processors may generate image data and adjust the image data based at least in part on display sensing feedback. The electronic display may employ sensing circuitry that obtains the display sensing feedback at least in part by applying test data to a pixel of a column of an active area of the display and differentially senses an electrical value of the pixel in comparison to a reference signal from a different column. This reference signal may provide a common mode noise reference, which is removed by the differential sensing and thereby enhances a quality of the sensed electrical value of the pixel.

Abstract: Systems and methods reduce likelihood of hysteresis that reduces perceived image quality of a subsequent image frame by toggling the display pixels to relax the display pixels by overwriting previous image frame data. During non-emission periods of the pixels, the pixels may be pre-toggled or exercised to improve response time and accuracy of the pixel. Data for pixels being programmed may also be used to pre-toggle other pixels reducing overhead but increasing cross-talk. Since the amount of cross-talk is related to content of the pixels being pre-toggled, a line buffer may be used to store image data for the pixels being pre-toggled. This stored image data may be used to determine how much pre-compensation is to be applied to data for the pixels being programmed. In other words, an amount of compensation applied is based at least in part on the content (e.g., greyscale levels) of the image data.
