    摘要: The embodiments herein relate to a method in a base station for adjusting transmission power in a communications network. The base station determines a first number m; P of historical transmit power control, TPC, commands based on a signal power and an interference level. The base station determines a second number 2k; n+Q of current TPC commands based on the first number m; P of historical TPC commands, or based on the first number m; P of historical TPC commands and a third number n−K of signal power and interference level pairs. The base station transmits a sequence of TPC commands comprising the first number of historical TPC commands and the second number of current TPC commands to the user equipment to adjust the user equipment's transmission power.

    摘要: A base station for use in a WiMAX system comprise means for sending a wake-up signal to an idle terminal to indicate to the terminal that a paging signal is about to be sent to the terminal. The terminal receives and interprets the wake-up signal and prepares itself for receiving the paging signal. This saves battery power in the terminal since the wake-up signal can be detected more easily than the paging signal. The base station, in the mean time, can reduce its paging message traffic and saves overhead in downlink transmission.

The fast inner loop power control for a UE is broken (220) in dependence of the comparisons. The breaking comprises commanding (222) of a first number of consecutive power down commands to UEs having the frame based SINR above the second threshold for a RoT value above the first threshold and toggling (224) of power control commands for the subset of UEs during a second number of radio frames for a RoT value above the first threshold.

    摘要: The present invention is directed to a method and a node arrangement for extending the cell range in a wireless communication system, which communication system comprises a communication network arranged to operatively communicate with at least one mobile terminal via an air interface having a cell range extending to a cell edge, and at least one mobile terminal arranged to operatively communicate with said communication network via said air interface. The method comprises the steps of: obtaining information about the condition of an up-link signal from said at least one mobile terminal; determining whether said terminal is located at or near the cell edge, and extending the cell range by increasing the time for up-link transmission if the terminal is located at or near the cell edge.
