摘要: A repeater for maintaining wireless line of sight communications. The repeater is autonomously repositional in both absolute location and azimuthal orientation. The repeater has at least two vibratory motors, or other vibration sources, which provide oscillations to depending legs against a support surface. By selectively operating one or more of the vibration sources together or independently, the repeater may be moved as helpful to maintain line of sight communication with another repeater or other operational hardware. A command signal from a remote base station controls the locomotion of the repeater to provide both a change in absolute position relative to the surroundings and a rotational change in azimuthal orientation as necessary to maintain communication under dynamic conditions.

摘要: An aircraft based satellite communication (SATCOM) terminal includes a broadband aperture configured to communicate through non-geostationary orbit (NGSO) satellites for broadband communications, a management aperture configured to receive NGSO satellite management information from a geostationary orbit (GSO) satellite, and at least one processor that performs operations. The operations receive the NGSO satellite management information from the GSO satellite, where the NGSO satellite management information indicates positions and associated time of a set of the NGSO satellites. The operations acquire a second communication link with a second NGSO satellite among the set using the NGSO satellite management information during handoff switching from using a first communication link that was previously acquired with a first NGSO satellite to using the second communication link being acquired with the second NGSO satellite. The operations then perform broadband communications through the broadband aperture and the second communication link with the second NGSO satellite. Related ground-based control centers are disclosed.

摘要: A wireless communication system includes a first communication device and a second communication device. The second communication device captures over-the-air a mmWave RF signal of a specified frequency having a defined pilot tone transmitted by the first communication device. The second communication device extracts at least one RF signal from a plurality of RF signals corresponding to different communication protocols from the captured mmWave RF signal, estimates phase-noise in the at least one extracted RF signal, and down-converts the at least one extracted RF signal to a source frequency. The second communication device further reduces the phase noise in the at least one extracted RF signal concurrently at the down-convert and utilizes the at least one extracted RF signal with reduced phase noise for further distribution to one or more end-user devices.

摘要: An active repeater device includes a primary sector and at least a secondary sector communicatively coupled to the primary sector receives or transmits a first beam of input RF signals having a first beam pattern from or to a base station, respectively. The primary sector includes an baseband signal processor and a first radio head (RH) unit. The secondary sector comprises a second RH unit. Beamforming coefficients are generated to convert the first beam pattern of the first beam of input RF signals to a second beam pattern based on a location of each of a plurality of user equipment (UEs). A second beam of output RF signals in the second beam pattern is transmitted from or received by, respectively, the secondary sector to or from, respectively, the plurality of UEs based on the generated beamforming coefficients and the received first beam of input RF signals.
