WHEREIN R1 AND R2 ARE BRANCHED ALKYL GROUPS OF 3 TO 6 CARBON ATOMS AND X IS HYDROGEN, FLUORINE, CHLORINE BROMINE OR IODINE, WITH THE PROVISO THAT AT LEAST ONE X IS HALOGEN HAVE MORPHOGENETIC HORMONAL MIMETIC ACTIVITY ON MOSQUITOS. THE COMPOUNDS ARE PREPARED BY THE REACTION OF A 2,6-DI-(BRANCHED ALKYL) PHENOL AND A HALOVINYLSULFENYL HALIDE.
