摘要: A disk drive is disclosed comprising a head actuated over a disk, the disk comprising a plurality of servo sectors defining a plurality of servo tracks, wherein the servo tracks form a plurality of servo zones. A servo data rate of servo sectors in a first servo zone is different than a servo data rate of servo sectors in a second servo zone. A boundary of a first servo zone overlaps with a boundary of a second servo zone over a transition zone. The servo sectors of the first servo zone are interleaved with the servo sectors of the second servo zone within the transition zone. At least one servo parameter is adjusted when the head is over the transition zone in order to transition between the first servo zone and the second servo zone.

摘要: A disk drive comprising an actuator including a head, a disk, and a processor connected to the actuator by a flex circuit cable. The processor under the control of a program to: apply a control signal for a seek operation and to apply a bias signal to the control signal to approximate the bias imparted by the flex circuit cable. The bias is determined from a data structure that stores: bias values for track zones representative of a first and second bias curves that approximate a bias imparted by the flex circuit cable upon the actuator as the actuator moves the head from the OD to the ID of the disk and from the ID to the OD of the disk, respectively. The bias values representative of the first and second bias curves are determined based upon a non-linear apportionment of track zones.

摘要: A method for improving the performance of a rotary actuator in a disk drive, the rotary actuator comprises a voice coil motor (VCM) characterized by a torque parameter, the disk drive comprises a servo control system having a motor driver circuit for receiving a series of command effort signals (CEFs) transmitted based on a first seek profile, and for providing an operating current to VCM based on the CEFs for causing a movement of the actuator from a first radial location to a target radial location. The method includes recording the transmitted CEFs, and while actuator is moving: adjusting each recorded CEF to account for a disk drive influence on actuator movement; storing adjusted CEFs; monitoring velocity of moving actuator; calculating an acceleration value corresponding to moving actuator from the stored CEFs and monitored velocity; and adjusting the acceleration value to account for a radial torque parameter variation.

摘要: A method for switching signals using one of a plurality of mirrors in an array structure. The method includes determining an optical path to be formed between an input fiber and an output fiber. The method also includes determining a set of mirrors to be used to form the optical path. The set of mirrors includes at least a first mirror. The first mirror is coupled to a mechanical spring assembly and an actuation assembly. The method captures an analog signal indicative of a spatial position of the first mirror using a position sensing device. The sensing device is coupled to the mirror. The method also converts the signal analog signal into a digital signal. The method processes the digital signal indicative of the spatial position of the mirror using the digital signal processing device to obtain a characteristic of the mirror. The method provides a control signal based upon the characteristic of the mirror. The converts the control signal into an analog control signal. The method uses the analog control signal with the actuation assembly to set a desired position of the first mirror.
