Abstract: A drive apparatus includes a power module, a connector and a heat sink. The connector is used for electric connection to an external side and has a flange, which is formed on its peripheral wall. The heat sink is formed to have a module holding part for holding the power module and a fitting hole for fitting with the flange and has a connector holding part for holding a connector. The flange is formed along a first surface, which faces the connector holding part of the peripheral wall, and side surfaces, which are formed on both sides of the first surface. Thus, water droplets are prevented from entering into a control unit through a clearance between the connector and the heat sink without adding other members such as a water preventing cover.

Abstract: A rotating electric machine includes a motor section and a controller section. The motor section includes an annular stator, a winding wire wound on the stator, and a rotor rotatably disposed inside the stator. The controller section is positioned in an axially non-overlapping position with the stator and controls an electric power supply to the winding wire for a drive control of the motor section. The rotating electric machine also includes a cover having a cylindrical shape which seamlessly covers the controller section and the motor section. The rotating electric machine further includes a lid section for sealing of an end part of the cover. As a result, the rotating electric machine is sealed from dust and water.

Abstract: A housing and a rotary shaft of a motor are formed of non-magnetic material. A soft magnetic member is provided between a first axial end surface of a fixed core and a bearing. The soft magnetic member is provided on the fixed core side relative to the first bearing thereby to suppress magnetic flux leaking to a vicinity of one end part of the rotary shaft by leading the magnetic flux, which is generated from a rotor, to the rotor core through the fixed core and a casing. A magnetic angular position sensor fixed to one end part of the rotary shaft can detect a magnetic angular position of the rotor accurately without being affected by external magnetic field. As a result, noise generated by vibration of the motor can be suppressed.
