Abstract: A steering control device includes a first reaction force control circuit and a second reaction force control circuit. Each of the first reaction force control circuit and the second reaction force control circuit are configured to control a reaction force motor, to execute, at a starting time, a preparation process including a process that requires the steering wheel to automatically rotate through the reaction force motor, and to store, at a time of execution completion of the preparation process, information indicating whether the preparation process has been normally completed. In a case where the first reaction force control circuit has been reset, when the information indicates that the preparation process has been normally completed, the first reaction force control circuit that has been rest is configured to not execute the preparation process at a time of restarting after completion of the reset.

Abstract: An electric motor is provided which is designed to minimize a risk of corrosion or stress corrosion cracking of parts thereof and reduce mechanical vibration or noise. The electric motor includes an output shaft, a bearing which retains the output shaft, a frame, and a biasing member. The biasing member is made of austenite stainless steel and disposed between the bearing and a bottom wall of a bearing housing to elastically press the output shaft in a lengthwise direction thereof for eliminating mechanical noise arising from vibration of a rotor. The frame has a coating formed on an outer surface thereof for avoiding erosion thereof. The coating is not formed at least on a portion of the frame which faces the biasing member in order to induce sacrificial corrosion of the frame, which decelerates the corrosion of the biasing member to eliminate a risk of the stress corrosion cracking thereof.

Abstract: A steering control system includes a plurality of control circuits configured to control a reaction force motor and a turning motor in coordination with one another, the reaction force motor generating a steering reaction force applied to a steering wheel from which power transmission to turning wheels of a vehicle is cut off, the turning motor generating a turning force for turning the turning wheels. When at least one control circuit among the control circuits that are operating normally is reset, the reset control circuit is configured to execute a process for stopping travel of the vehicle upon restarting after completion of the reset.

Abstract: A steer-by-wire steering system including a steering device including a steering motor and a controller configured to supply a steering current to the steering motor based on a steering request. The controller includes a plurality of microcomputers, a plurality of drive circuits, and a plurality of temperature sensors. When a detection temperature difference that is a difference between detection temperatures of any two of the plurality of temperature sensors is greater than a predetermined threshold, each of the plurality of microcomputers executes an independent calculation control to independently calculate and set a current limit value, which is an upper limit value of the steering current, based on a detection temperature of one of the plurality of temperature sensors corresponding to itself, irrespective of detection temperatures of one or more of the plurality of temperature sensors other than the one of the plurality of temperature sensors corresponding to itself.

Abstract: A steering control device includes a controller including a drive circuit that performs action for supplying, to a motor, electric power supplied by being connected to at least one of a first and a second power supply. When a connection state of the drive circuit is a state in which electric power is supplied from the first power supply, the connection state is switched by a power supply device to transition to a second state in which electric power is supplied from the second power supply when an abnormality of the first power supply is detected. Moreover, the controller starts an output limiting process of limiting torque outputtable by the motor as compared with before the abnormality of the first power supply is detected, after the abnormality is detected and before switching of the connection state is completed.

Abstract: A drive device includes a shaft rotatably supported by a first bearing and a second bearing. The first bearing is disposed in a shaft hole of an output frame end. The second bearing is disposed in a bearing box of an opposite-to-output frame end. An oil seal is fixed in the shaft hole and is closer to an output end than the first bearing is, and is in sliding contact with an outer circumference of the shaft. A biasing member is housed in the bearing box and biases an outer race of the second bearing toward the output end. Accordingly, a deflection amount and a bend amount of the shaft at the location where the oil seal is disposed may be reduced.

Abstract: A seal member of a driver apparatus contacts a case and a first frame end. The seal member has an opening in which a lead wire is inserted and an inside wall surface of the opening contacts the lead wire. Further, the seal member is made of a stretchable material, and is held in position only by a binding force between the case and the first frame end. The seal member is fixedly held by the first frame end and the case after an insertion of the lead wire in the opening and disposition on the fixing member opposing face. Therefore, an installation of the seal member is performed by an inserting the lead wire into the opening and a positioning the seal member on the case.
