Abstract: A push-button switch including a keytop plunger, a base structure for retaining and guiding the keytop plunger, a biasing contact member, and flexible wire contacts. The biasing contact member is a leaf spring mounted in the base structure and actuated into a bowed position by depression of the keytop plunger. The flexible wire contacts are also mounted in the base structure and are engaged by the leaf spring when it is bowed. The complete structure is mounted on a printed circuit board with the leaf spring and wire contacts connected to their respective contact leads on the PC board.

Abstract: A prosthesis for a synovial joint arthroplasty within a human body is provided. The prosthesis includes a first prosthetic component, the first prosthetic component including a first surface and the first prosthetic component being formed of a copolymer elastomer compound, the copolymer elastomer compound including a thermoplastic elastomer, a plurality of long glass fibers, the long glass fibers being randomly dispersed throughout the thermoplastic elastomer to improve surface fatigue life and inhibit surface crack propagation to the prosthesis and improve wear resistance of the prosthesis, a number of the plurality of long glass fibers protruding outward from the first surface of the first prosthetic component; a second prosthetic component, the second prosthetic component including a second surface, the second surface of the second prosthetic component positioned proximate the first surface of the first prosthetic component to engage the plurality of long glass fibers protruding from the first surface of the first prosthetic component allowing the second surface of the second prosthetic component to slide relative to the first surface of first prosthetic component while contacting the plurality of long glass fibers protruding outward from the first surface of the first prosthetic component, a gap, the gap created by the voids between the second surface of the second prosthetic component, the first surface of the first prosthetic component and the plurality of long glass fibers that protrude outward from the first surface of the first prosthetic component, the gap further disposed between the first surface of the first prosthetic component and the second surface of the second prosthetic component to allow the passage of fluid between the first surface of the first prosthetic component and the second surface of the second prosthetic component, a first trough, the first trough formed as the plurality of long glass fibers protruding outward from the first surface are forced into the thermoplastic elastomer as the prosthesis is loaded, the first trough positioned proximate each of the plurality of long glass fibers and encasing a perimeter of each of the plurality of long glass fibers.

Abstract: Methods and systems of validating the application of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (“GD&T”) in a drawing. In one embodiment, a method of validating the application of GD&T in a drawing includes creating a drawing having at least one drawing element. Next, a geometric dimensioning and tolerancing rule is applied to the at least one drawing element of the drawing. The legality of the applied geometric dimensioning and tolerancing rule is then verified with a software validation tool. Each illegal application of the geometric dimensioning and tolerancing rule is indicated with the software validation tool. Finally, a report is generated with the software validation tool, which contains each illegal application of the geometric dimensioning and tolerancing rule.

Abstract: A damper for damping pressure pulsations in a liquid includes an outer tube having an inner surface defining an interior cavity, and an inner tube positioned within the interior cavity of the outer tube. The inner tube includes an outer surface such that at least one chamber is formed between the inner surface of the outer tube and the outer surface of the inner tube for containing a gas. The damper includes an exterior surface configured to be surrounded by the liquid and an interior surface configured to define a passageway through the damper for the liquid. The damper can define at least two, and in one embodiment, four separate chambers for containing a gas. The damper can be part of a fuel rail assembly and is positioned within a fuel rail configured to contain pressurized fuel.

Abstract: A plunger actuated, electrical switch uses a lost motion mechanism to prevent the switch from making and breaking contact more than once for each plunger depression. The plunger drives a contact element from a rest position to a contact position where electrical communication between two terminals is established and remains established until the plunger has retreated a fixed amount through a range of lost motion, whereupon it re-engages the contact element and drives it toward the rest position, breaking electrical communication between the terminals.
