Abstract:
A plastic material sheet for use in vacuum thermoforming is formed of polymer material. Electrically conductive resistance elements, at least a portion of which are situated within sheet, conduct electrical current to heat the sheet. The elements are generally parallel to each other. They may be straight, have a generally zigzag configuration, a generally serpentine configuration, an arcuate configuration, or a grid-like configuration. The elements may each have a section that extends substantially beyond the edge of the sheet. They may be frangible. They may be embedded deeply within the sheet or may be situated proximate a surface of the sheet.
Abstract:
The pliers, preferably in the form of dental pliers, include first and second members. Each of the members includes a handle portion and a jaw portion. The members are pivotally connected for movement of the jaw portions between remote and proximate positions. One of the jaw portions has a recess within which a nichrome heating element is situated. First and second wires extend into the recess and are connected to the heating element. The wires are connected to a variable power source to electrically energize the heating element such that the jaw portion of the pliers with the heating element is heated to the desired degree.
Abstract:
An electrical storage device such as a capacitor, which comprises a high surface area material such as zeolite as a substrate, a suitable dielectric layer proximate to the substrate, and necessary electrically conductive layers.
Abstract:
The air compressor has an air intake, a tank, means for pressurizing the air in the tank and an air outlet connected to the tank. High power UV LED light sources are mounted within the tank to disinfect the interior tank surface. The UV LED light sources preferably have an output wavelength within the range of 250 nm to 365 nm, most preferably within the range of 260 nm to 270 nm. Preferably, the light output of the light sources is pulsed. The light source has a cover for protecting the light source which may take the form of a quartz diverging lens. Air flow is directed through the area proximate the light source to remove particles from the light source cover. The effect of this air flow can be amplified by creating turbulence proximate the light sources utilizing a member with an arcuate profile.
Abstract:
The method begins drilling a borehole from the surface to an underground shale matrix. A pipe is inserted into the borehole. Fractures are created in the shale matrix by pumping fracturing fluid including water, proppants and various chemicals into the shale matrix to widen the fractures. The interior surface of at least one section of pipe is coated with a contaminant-capturing substance. The fluid re-enters the pipe from the shale matrix and moves through the coated pipe section to the surface where contaminants are sequestered by the coating. Natural gas or oil from the fractured shale then enters the pipe and moves to the surface to be collected. The coated pipe section remains in the ground permanently such that the necessity of disposing of the captured contaminates is eliminated.
Abstract:
The screwdriver has a handle and a rigid shaft that extends from the handle. The shaft has an end for engaging a screw. It also has a bore that extends from the handle to the screw-engaging end of the shaft. A LED is situated in the bore, proximate the screw-engaging end of the shaft. The handle has a recess. A battery is situated within the recess. The LED is electrically connected to battery by a wire extending through the bore, between the LED and the handle. Interchangeable heads are provided for use with screws of various configurations.

Abstract:
A casing seals to the edge of a mirror blank to form an autoclavable unit. An electrically energizable heater element is enclosed within the unit. The element is connected to a plug which extends from the casing and is adapted to engage a socket when the unit nests in a recess in a rack. A transformer is connected to the socket such that the heater is energized to preheat the unit while in the rack. Removal of the unit from the rack disconnects the electric supply, permitting the preheated unit to used without danger of shock. Several units may be preheated simultaneously on a single rack.
Abstract:
A sanitary catchall trap utilizing an aqueous dispersion medium for improved antibacterial and deodorant capabilities in the capture and disposal of waste. The trap includes an interior and a lid for enclosing the interior. The trap includes an odor controlling substance dissolvable in the aqueous dispersion medium, a cage having a receiving portion for housing the odor controlling substance, and a fastening portion for mounting the cage to the interior of the trap. A biodegradable, water-soluble barrier encloses at least a portion of the receiving portion of the cage for shielding the substance from leakage prior to use.
Abstract:
The air compressor has an air intake, a tank, means for pressurizing the air in the tank and an air outlet connected to the tank. High power 365 nm UV LED light sources are mounted within the tank to disinfect the interior tank surface. The light source has a cover for protecting the light source which may take the form of a quartz diverging lens for directing the output of the light source toward the portion of the interior tank surface where fluid tends to accumulate, such as the bottom of the tank. Air flow is directed through the area proximate the light source to remove particles from the light source cover. The effect of this air flow can be amplified by creating turbulence proximate the light sources utilizing a member with an arcuate profile.
