    摘要: A container closure comprises a cylindrical molded utitary member defining a top panel and a skirt depending from the top panel to an open end for securement to the container, the skirt being interiorly tapered at the open end. The taper begins flush with the outer surface of the skirt and ends in a first circumference radially of the central axis of such cylinder. The skirt further defines a bead extending radially interiorly of the skirt to a second circumference radially closer to the cylinder central axis than the first circumference. The closure provides sealing retention pressure in accordance with the radially interior extent of the bead and exhibits evidence of initial removal from the container. The method for making the closure involves the use of a stripper plate to participate in part in defining a mold cavity.

User apparatus includes the pump and various pump heads for effecting spraying, foaming and container pressurization. A control mechanism for pump operation renders the pump inoperative for transport, selectively operable upon triggering or continuously operable.

    摘要: A device for pouring and measuring a volume of fluid from a container threaded to the device includes a liquid storage chamber disposed above the container when upright. An opening in the storage chamber receives fluid from the container when inverted. A vent tube connects the ambient to the container interior. A volume measuring chamber is disposed beneath and connected to the storage chamber via a fluid passage so that fluid in the storage chamber pours into the measuring chamber through the passage when the container is upright. The opening in the storage chamber connected to the container interior has a predetermined spaced relationship above the measuring volume chamber for dumping liquid in excess of the measured volume back into the upright container. A pour chamber receives the measured volume when the container is inverted for preventing the measured volume fluid from returning to the storage chamber through the fluid passage.

As contrasted with conventional crown seals which employ a sealing gasket, the closure effects a sealing action between corresponding frustoconical sealing surfaces on the container finish and an inner surface of the cap, thus eliminating the need for a gasket. The closure includes a tamper indicating means at a lower peripheral edge thereof which is damaged upon engagement with an opening tool or other object.

    摘要: An improved synthetic resinous molded threaded cap for use on necked containers permitting initial press fit installation and subsequent threaded engagement. The cap is provided with a tear seal, an inner surface of which provides mutual engagement of an inwardly projecting rib with a corresponding rib on the container neck. Rupture of the tear seal removes this rib and allows the cap to be threadedly engaged by further axial displacement of the cap upon the neck. The cap may be molded with a feathered free edge to facilitate removal from a mold without damaging the rib.

    摘要: A vented housing has a tubular inlet for receiving liquid from a container and for venting the container. The housing provides a measured volume determined by the inlet position in the housing. An upper valve engages the inlet and a lower valve linked to the upper valve engages a discharge port for discharging the measured volume. The upper valve closes the inlet when the measured volume is dispensed through the discharge port. The upper valve is removable to provide a continuous pour mode. The upper valve when closed has a valve clearance sufficiently small to cut off vent action to the container to stop the flow of liquid through the inlet and sufficiently large to permit sliding action of the valve within the inlet without significant mechanical pressure contact between the valve and the inlet.

    摘要: A device which may be used with a liquid metering and dispensing spout, includes a fluid receptacle having an upstanding annular side wall extending from a bottom wall, forming a given volume. The side wall has vent projection protruding therefrom. A volume determining member axially slideable in the receptacle has a tapered resilient side wall which is radially inwardly compressed by and forms a seal with the inner surface of the receptacle side wall to form a settable bottom wall for the receptacle. The side wall of the member engages the vent projection during its insertion to permit entrapped gas to escape between the side walls as the member is slid to a predetermined volume position.

    摘要: Break-away closures are formed by an injection molding process with a closure part in interference path with a forming core for interference in use with a counterpart surface of a container neck. The process and apparatus disclosed permits stripping of the formed closure from the core by selectively creating free encircling space about the interference closure part for expansion thereof during stripping. The closure has detent surface molded therein which assists the stripping operation and the process and apparatus provide for the application of stripping forces at spaced locations simultaneously to permit stripping of the closure in part without axial loading thereof.
