摘要： The present invention provides an image processing device and an image processing method, which prevent printing mishaps from occurring in printed matter when a user performs a printing process by using a machine plate without knowing a compressed image is included on a page layout. In the print server, when a compressed image on a page layout is detected, a warning is generated to request selection of the next process. For this reason, when interruption of printing is designated, the printing process is interrupted. Drawing using a warning color or application of an outline is designated, and a drawing setting is performed according to the designation. An output of a warning page is designated, and a setting is performed such that a print output is obtained by either extracting a compressed image or by deleting a compressed image.

摘要： When image signals of C, M and Y color plates are processed, a triangular wave with low screen frequency is inputted to a comparator. When an image signal of K plate is processed, a triangular wave with high screen frequency is inputted to the comparator. Thus, C, M and Y colors form an image with smooth gradation and K forms an image which emphasizes thin lines. Consequently, even if an image which emphasizes gradation and an image which emphasizes thin line exist at the same time, the respective images can be formed on a recording sheet with high quality.

摘要： An image processing device is structured such that it is possible to simply and appropriately determine presence/absence of an image for which overprinting has been designated, or the image. In a print server, when an overprint warning function is set, detecting and extracting of an image for which overprinting has been designated are carried out. Thereafter, when the image for which overprinting has been designated is detected, warning is given to a client terminal, and image processing and printing processing for a corresponding image are set so as to clarify the corresponding image. In this way, the image for which overprinting has been designated can be correctly determined on a printed matter outputted from a printer.

摘要： When an output unit to produce output is specified through an instruction terminal 11 and original data is input to a color proof generation section 12, a color conversion section 13 acquires a color conversion parameter corresponding to the specified output unit from a color conversion information storage section 14 and performs color conversion processing for the original data so as to accomplish precise color reproduction in the specified output unit. A rasterizing section 15 expands the original data after undergoing the color conversion processing into raster data while using an enormous number of fonts in a font storage section 16. The raster data provided by the rasterizing section 15 is transmitted from a communication section 17 through a network 4 to the specified output unit. If a remote system 2 or 3, which receives the raster data, prints out on output unit 21 or 31, a color proof whose color is reproduced precisely can be provided.
