    Abstract: Disclosed is an optical connector ferrule including a main body portion having inside a plurality of optical paths that are parallel that are to each other; and a reinforcing member having a face parallel to an alignment direction of the plurality of the optical paths and having a linear expansion coefficient that is smaller than the linear expansion coefficient of the main body portion, wherein the reinforcing member has on a face of the optical path side thereof at least two limiting portions each having a face that limits an expansion and a contraction of the main body portion in the arrangement direction, the limiting portions being spaced apart in the arrangement direction.

    Abstract: A ferrule with fiber holes includes: a resin-molded portion molded by a resin; and a reinforcement member embedded in the resin-molded portion and that has a smaller linear expansion coefficient than the resin-molded portion. The reinforcement member includes fiber insertion portions that are parallel to the fiber holes. The fiber holes are formed by the resin that entered the fiber insertion portions.

    Abstract: An optical connector system includes: an optical path-changing device including a fiber-holding part that holds a single-mode optical fiber along a first direction, and a reflection surface that reflects an optical signal; and a relay device on a substrate. The substrate includes a grating coupler for inputting/outputting an optical signal in a second direction that is inclined with respect to a direction perpendicular to a surface of the substrate. The optical path-changing device and the relay device each have an input/output surface to/from which the optical signal is inputted/outputted. A first convex lens is disposed on the input/output surface of the optical path-changing device. A second convex lens is disposed on the input/output surface of the relay device.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a tool for releasing an engaged state in which a receptacle-side engagement section formed on a side surface of a receptacle provided on a substrate is engaged with a connector-side engagement section of an optical connector that is attachable to and detachable from the receptacle. The tool includes: release claws to be inserted into respective gaps, each gap being formed between a member arranged between a pair of engagement side plate parts each being provided with the connector-side engagement section, and each engagement side plate part; and a guide part that comes into opposition with a side surface of the optical connector or the receptacle. By bringing the guide part into opposition with the side surface and sliding the release claws toward the substrate, the engagement side plate parts are spread outward by the release claws and the engaged state is released.

    Abstract: An optical repeater to be arranged between a substrate and an optical connector, the optical repeater includes: a body part including a plurality of optical paths to transmit an optical signal between the substrate and the optical connector, a substrate-side end-face in which one end of each of the optical paths opposes the substrate, and a connector connecting part to connect another end of each of the optical paths to the optical connector, the body part being configured from a material with a greater coefficient of linear expansion than that of the substrate; and a reinforcing member arranged so as to surround the optical paths in a side to the substrate-side end-face, the reinforcing member being configured from a material with a smaller coefficient of linear expansion than that of the body part.
