Abstract: A processing method for automatically opening a slide-open package of tobacco articles with a hinged lid; the processing method including the steps of: mechanically clamping an outer container of the package; exerting pull on the lid to rotate the lid into an open position by means of a first actuator, which contacts a top wall of the lid, and has a suction head which engages the top wall by suction; and, simultaneously and in coordination with the step of exerting pull on the lid, exerting thrust on an inner container of the package, to slide the inner container axially with respect to the outer container, by means of a second actuator, which contacts a wall of the inner container through a window formed through a corresponding wall of the outer container.

Abstract: Packing machine and packing method for producing an inner container of a slide-open package of tobacco articles and with hinged lid by folding an inner blank about a wrapped group of tobacco articles; by way of a packing conveyor the inner blank is fed along a packing path and through a first work station, wherein portions of the inner blank are folded by way of a folding device provided with a body which is movable in a work direction perpendicular to the packing path; the folding body has a center member, two top side members, and two bottom side members which are arranged in different positions in the first work direction to perform in succession respective folds of the inner blank while the folding body moves with a continuous movement along the first work direction.

Abstract: A packing method for producing a package of tobacco articles having: an inner container, which houses a group of tobacco articles, and has an open top end and a hinged lid to close the open top end; an outer container housing the inner container so as to allow the inner container to slide with respect to the outer container between a closed configuration and an open configuration; and a sealing flap, which is hinged to a top edge of a front wall of the outer container, and is movable between a work position, in which the sealing flap is perpendicular to the front wall of the outer container and located beneath a top wall of the lid of the inner container, and a rest position, in which the sealing flap is substantially parallel to the front wall of the outer container.
