Abstract: A method and a feeding apparatus for feeding spacers for cigarette packs are disclosed, in which each spacer comprises a substantially rectangular flat body, the spacers being insertable in cartons for cigarette packs to space out packs with dimensions smaller than the standard dimensions; the spacers are stacked on a pallet that is positioned in a withdrawal station; the stacks of spacers are withdrawn from the withdrawal station and transferred to a respective hopper by passing each stack of spacers through an upper opening of the hopper, to then unload the spacers one by one through a lower opening of the hopper.

Abstract: A system for conveying electronic cigarette components, including: a guide including a stopping station; a carriage to slide along the guide; a retaining device for holding a component of an electronic cigarette; and a locking unit for locking the carriage relative to the guide at the stopping station. The locking unit includes: two abutment elements mounted on the carriage and disposed at a predetermined mutual distance; and an inserting element which is: disposed at the stopping station shaped such that first and second edges contact the abutment elements, respectively, when the carriage is at the stopping station; movable between a retracted position free from the abutment elements to allow the carriage to slide, and an advanced position contacting the abutment elements to prevent the carriage from sliding. Each abutment element is rotatable about its axis to facilitate movement of the inserting element between the two positions.

Abstract: A system for transferring a first group of components of electronic cigarettes from first to second operating stations includes a flat collecting surface extending from a feeding zone to a releasing zone. A feeding device receives the components and feeds them onto the collecting surface. A first abutment element abuts the first component of the first group. A second abutment element abuts the last component of the first group. A compacting and stabilizing device moves the components closer together and stabilizes their positions. A first movement device moves the first and second abutment elements along the collecting surface to transfer the first group to the releasing zone. A tray faces the releasing zone to receive the first group. A pushing device pushes the components from the releasing zone into the tray. A transferring device transfers the tray with the first group towards the second operating station.

Abstract: The electric cartridge for an electronic cigarette of this invention comprises a piece of flexible substrate material comprising at least a flexible film which mounts an electrically conductive network in the form of an array and defining a plurality of resistive zones (pixels) and a plurality of power supply pins for supplying one or more electric currents and connected to the resistive zones. The resistive zones define heating means and are grouped into distinct modules. Each module corresponds to an uninterrupted portion of the electrically conductive network and comprises at least one resistive zone and respective power supply pins. The electric cartridge includes a plurality of portions of aromatic substance positioned on at least one face of the piece of flexible material. Each portion is associated with a resistive zone and positioned in proximity to a heating surface of the respective resistive zone.

Abstract: An inspection group is proposed for inspecting cylinder-shaped elongated elements for smoking articles, in which a working plane is selected passing through a longitudinal axis of a first elongated element and there are considered a first half space and a second half space arranged on opposite parts with respect to the working plane. The inspecting group includes: a projecting device adapted to project a first stripe of light from the first half space onto an inspection portion of an external surface of the first elongated element and to obtain a first three-dimensional light trace, and also adapted to project a second stripe of light from the second half space onto the inspection portion to obtain a second three-dimensional light trace; an optical assembly adapted to frame the first elongated element and to process a first view and a second view; a processing device adapted to reconstruct a first closed curved section profile of the first elongated element processing an identified first curved light line in the first view and a second identified curved light line in the second view and comparing the first reconstructed closed curved profile with an ideal section profile to identify possible deformations of the reconstructed first closed curved profile with respect to the ideal section profile. The projecting device includes a single projector of a single stripe of light; a shield, arranged between the single projector and the first elongated element, adapted to split the single stripe of light into a first part of a stripe of light and into a second part of a stripe of light; first deflectors of the first part of a stripe of light arranged in the first half space and second deflectors of the second part of the stripe of light arranged in the second half space to obtain respectively the first stripe of light projected from the first half space and the second stripe of light projected from the second half space by a single stripe of light.
