The first suction portions alternate with the second non-suction portions and the first non-suction portions alternate with the second suction portions. A first system holds the first web on the applicator drum upstream of a cutting device. A second system holds the second web on the drum upstream of the cutting device.
Abstract:
A machine for making sanitary articles including an impermeable outer layer and an absorbent pad superposed thereon, the machine including a feed line feeding the outer web and a unit forming the absorbent pad. The forming unit includes a first feeder feeding a first web along an operating direction, a second feeder feeding a second web, a coupling station coupling the first web to the second web, a dosing/depositing station located upstream of the coupling station where a distributed quantity of absorbent material is placed on the first web. The dosing/depositing station includes an apparatus for distributing particulate material with a tank containing particulate material, a feed mechanism feeding the material and a downstream distribution mechanism receiving the material to distribute the material on a drum or conveyor. The distribution mechanism includes a diffuser and a vibrating device to shake the diffuser.
Abstract:
A device for folding a web for producing absorbent sanitary articles along at least one longitudinal fold line parallel to its feed direction includes two diverting elements positioned on opposite sides of the web one after the other, to operate in succession on respective lateral portions of the web and allow transversal folding of one lateral portion on the other and both on the web. Each diverting element has a diverting surface which is used for folding and which is equipped with a plurality of holes to emit jets of air under pressure at a tangent to the diverting surface, directed transversely to the feed direction of the web along the same direction as the direction along which the two lateral portions are transversely folded by the diverting surface and defining between the latter and the web a laminar fluid bed.
Abstract:
An absorbent sanitary article having a main direction of extension comprises a permeable inner layer, an impermeable outer layer, an absorbent pad interposed between the inner layer and the outer layer and comprising a first layer of non-woven fabric, a second layer of non-woven fabric partly joined to the first layer of non-woven fabric, and an absorbent core interposed between the first and second layers of non-woven fabric; the absorbent core comprises a spread of absorbent polymer material and a third layer of non-woven fabric interposed between the first and second layers of non-woven fabric.
Abstract:
An absorbent sanitary article that includes a permeable inner layer, an impermeable outer layer, an absorbent pad interposed between the permeable inner layer and the impermeable outer layer; the pad includes a first layer of non-woven fabric, a second layer of non-woven fabric partly joined to the first layer of non-woven fabric, an absorbent core interposed between the first and second layers of non-woven fabric, a plurality of seals between the first layer of non-woven fabric and the second layer of non-woven fabric defining in the absorbent pad a plurality of cells; the absorbent core includes a first absorbent material and a second absorbent material divided in the cells; the cells comprise at least a first cell containing the second absorbent material together with the first absorbent material.
Abstract:
A method for forming an absorbent pad including a first layer, a second layer and an absorbent material interposed between the first and the second layer and arranged according to a spreading pattern M1 having at least one channel which is free of absorbent material, includes a step of feeding a first web, intended to form the first layer of the pad; a step of feeding a second web, intended to form the second layer of the pad; a step of spreading the absorbent material on the first web according to the spreading pattern M1; a step of spreading an adhesive on the first web according to a gluing pattern; a step of welding the first web and the second web according to a welding pattern M3 including at least one welding zone at the channel on the pad.
Abstract:
A process for forming an absorbent sanitary article includes feeding a first web including first and second stretches each having front and rear end portions; feeding a second web for forming a first side panel of the article; feeding a third web for forming a second side panel of the article; cutting the second web into a succession of first and second pieces defining the first side panel of the article; cutting the third web in a succession of third and fourth pieces, defining the second side panel of the article; applying the first through fourth pieces to the first web; the first and second stretches being provided in the first web so each first stretch has the rear end portion downstream of the front end portion in a feed direction and each second stretch has the front end portion downstream of the rear end portion.
Abstract:
A method for making sanitary articles, includes: feeding along a longitudinal direction of movement a first web of material defining a main body of the article; feeding a pair of longitudinal strips; dividing each strip into a succession of trapezoidal pieces adjacent each other and each having a long base and a short base so the pieces of each strip can be divided alternately into first pieces having a first orientation and second pieces having a second orientation opposite to the first orientation; spacing the pieces of each strip from each other; rotating the first or second pieces of each strip by 180° in plane to give the pieces of the first strip the first orientation and the pieces of the second strip the second orientation; applying each piece on a first face so the long base protrudes laterally from the edge of the first web.
