Abstract:
A control for the control-valve mechanism of an electric circuit breaker comprises means biasing the operating piston of said mechanism in a direction to effect circuit-breaker closing. Releasable latch means restrains the operating piston in a circuit-breaker-open position against this bias. A closingcontrol operator for the latch means is operable to release the latch means, thereby allowing the operating piston to be moved in a circuit-breaker-closing direction. An opening-control operator is effective when operated to develop an opening-control force for use in driving the operating piston through opening-control motion. Force-transmitting means effective when the latch means is reset serves to transmit said opening-control force from said opening-control operator to said operating piston. Latchresetting means effectively resets the latch means following and in response to release of the latch means.
Abstract:
A ceramic capacitor assembly for high voltages comprising a plurality of ceramic capacitor blocks disposed in stacked relation within a tubular insulating housing. A spacer ring of insulating material is associated with each block for maintaining the peripheries of the blocks radially spaced from the insulating housing by a predetermined minimum amount sufficient to effectively prevent ionization in the gaps between the peripheries of the blocks and the tubular housing. Each spacer ring is anchored to its associated ceramic block in such a manner that all portions of the spacer ring that are disposed radially outward of the periphery of the ceramic block are located in a position axially spaced from each ceramic block.
Abstract:
Discloses an airblast circuit breaker comprising interrupter tanks at high voltage filled with high-pressure air and provided with terminal bushings filled with a dielectric gas other than air. The tanks are mounted on hollow insulating columns through which air lines of insulating material extend to supply highpressure air to the tanks. A current transformer adjacent the columns has an insulating housing that is pneumatically interconnected with the bushings in the high-voltage region and is filled with dielectric gas of the same type as the bushings to serve as a reservoir for supplying the bushings with dielectric gas. Also discloses special means for mounting and sealing the high-pressure air line with respect to its column and tank.
