Abstract:
A water filter assembly is provided. The water assembly includes a cylindrical filter media, a pair of caps mounted at opposite ends of the cylindrical filter media, and a support column positioned within the cylindrical filter media. Inner and outer diameters of the cylindrical filter media can be selected in order to improve filtering of the cylindrical filter media. Also, at least one cap of the pair of caps can define an outlet having a diameter less than the inner diameter of the cylindrical filter media.
Abstract:
A water diverter assembly is provided. The water diverter assembly includes a valve and a selecting mechanism. The selecting mechanism permits adjustment of the valve. Such adjustment can selectively direct a flow of filtered water or a flow of unfiltered water through the valve. The water diverter assembly also includes an auxiliary filtered water connection.
Abstract:
An apparatus includes multiple manifolds, an inlet connecting line fluidly coupled to a flow inlet channel defined within a first manifold to a flow inlet channel defined within a second manifold, and an outlet connecting line fluidly coupled to a flow outlet channel defined within the first manifold and to a flow outlet channel defined within the second manifold. Another apparatus includes a plenum coupled to a surface of a multiple manifold apparatus including a influent channel fluidly coupled to a flow inlet channel defined within a first manifold and to a flow inlet channel defined within a second manifold, wherein the plenum also includes a secondary flow channel fluidly coupled to a flow outlet channel defined within the first manifold and to a flow outlet channel defined within the second manifold.
Abstract:
A flow diverter device includes a valve body component defining therein two inlet channels and an outlet channel; and a rotatable diverter component comprising an exterior side wall and defining therein a connecting channel in the form of an annular slot positioned around a portion of the exterior side wall. The rotatable diverter component is rotatably received by the valve body component and being movable between a first position where the connecting channel fluidly connects one of the inlet channels with the outlet channel only and a second position where the connecting channel fluidly connects the other of the inlet channels with the outlet channel only.
Abstract:
Stand-alone ice making appliances are provided. An appliance includes a container defining a first storage volume for receipt of ice, a water tank defining a second storage volume for receipt of water, and a pump in fluid communication with the second storage volume. The appliance further includes an ice maker which is in fluid communication with the pump for receiving water from the pump. The appliance further includes a filter, the filter including a filter medium operable to remove contaminants from water flowing through the filter medium, the filter positioned upstream of the ice maker in a flow direction of water from the second storage volume to the ice maker.
Abstract:
An air conditioner unit and methods of operating the same is provided. The air conditioner unit may include a refrigeration loop having a variable speed compressor, an electronic expansion valve, an indoor heat exchanger, and an outdoor heat exchanger. An indoor fan and an outdoor fan may be configured to urge air through the indoor and outdoor heat exchangers, respectively. A bulkhead may be disposed between the indoor heat exchanger and the outdoor heat exchanger to define an indoor portion and an outdoor portion of the unit. A vent aperture may be defined in the bulkhead, and the indoor and outdoor fans may be configured to urge make-up air from the outdoor portion through the vent aperture to the indoor portion. In addition, an auxiliary fan may be disposed within the vent aperture to provide additional “boost” make-up air, and a heating bank may be used to heat make-up air if desired.
Abstract:
A water heater appliance and method for operating a water heater appliance are provided. The method includes measuring a temperature of water within the water heater appliance, operating a heating element of the water heater appliance if the temperature of water within the water heater appliance is less than a threshold temperature and deactivating the heating element of the water heater appliance when the temperature of water within the water heater appliance exceeds the threshold temperature.
Abstract:
An induction cooktop appliance is provided. The induction cooktop appliance includes an induction heating element and a metal top panel positioned above the induction heating element for supporting cooking utensils thereon. The metal top panel defines an opening above the induction heating element. The opening can limit or regulate eddy currents within the metal top panel.
Abstract:
The present subject matter provides a damper valve. The damper valve includes an outer sleeve and an inner sleeve. The inner sleeve is positioned within the outer sleeve and is pivotable between a first position and a second position within the outer sleeve. Radial openings of the inner sleeve align with radial openings of the outer sleeve when the inner sleeve is in the first position, and axial openings of the inner sleeve align with axial openings of the outer sleeve when the inner sleeve is in the second position. A related heat pump water heater appliance is also provided.
Abstract:
A water heater appliance includes a tank with a sidewall. A boss is mounted to the sidewall of the tank, and an anode is mounted to the boss. The anode extends through the tank into an interior volume of the tank at an angle such that the anode avoids internal tank components of the water heater appliance. A related heat pump water heater appliance is also provided.
