    Abstract: A method for detecting when a rotor blade of a wind turbine is stuck is described. The method can include monitoring, via a controller, a speed of rotation of the wind turbine, and, determining, via the controller, a running average of the speed of rotation. The method further includes applying, via the controller, at least one filtering operation to the running average to obtain a filtered value, and, determining, via the controller, a stuck condition of one or more rotor blades of the wind turbine based on the filtered value. The method can also include performing a control operation to reduce loading on the wind turbine based on the stuck condition.

    Abstract: A model-based control system comprises a processor. The processor is configured to select a desired parameter of a machinery configured to produce power and to output emissions, and to select an emissions model configured to use the desired parameter as input and to output an emissions parameter. The processor is further configured to continuously tune the emissions model during operations of the machinery via a tuning system to derive a setpoint, and to adjust the setpoint by applying a tuning bias, wherein the tuning bias is continuously updated via segmented linear regression. The processor is additionally configured to control one or more actuators coupled to the machinery based on the adjusted setpoint.

    Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to a method for controlling a pitch angle of a rotor blade of a wind turbine. The method includes adjusting, with an actuator, the pitch angle of the rotor blade during a start-up sequence of the wind turbine. The actuator adjusts the pitch angle of the rotor blade by rotating the rotor blade about a pitch axis relative to a hub. The method also includes determining, with a controller, a minimum pitch angle threshold of the rotor blade based on a tip speed ratio of the rotor blade. The method further includes comparing, with the controller, a current pitch angle of the rotor blade to the minimum pitch angle threshold. When the pitch angle meets the minimum pitch angle threshold, the method includes preventing, with the actuator, the pitch angle of the rotor blade from exceeding the minimum pitch angle threshold.
