Abstract:
A signal transmitting and receiving system to track the position and orientation of limb segments in order to provide feedback information for the control of the limb movement. The user will generally be seated in a wheelchair that provides a structure upon which orthogonal and/or non-orthogonally oriented coils can be mounted and energized selectively so as to create variously oriented magnetic fields. Multiple wireless sensors injected into the limb detect the local field strength and send information telemetrically to a central controller. The controller extracts information about the position and orientation of each limb segment by combining signals from various sensors according to calibration information and optimal filtering methods for extracting information from multiple nonlinear sensors in mechanically constrained systems.
Abstract:
Devices and methods for positioning an implant at a target location in the body. The methods include testing an implant while within an injection device at a target location to determine whether the implant is functioning effectively. The methods also include testing from or delivery of materials to the target location during implantation, and loading the injection device for use. The device may be configured to permit the longitudinal and/or axial position of the implant to be maintained relative to an injection device during implantation. The device may also be configured to permit testing of the implant. Implants configured for use in the injection devices may also be included.
Abstract:
A method for on-off modulation of a transmitter coil current of a high-Q resonant circuit transmitter comprising the steps of sensing a zero-crossing of the transmitter coil current and substantially instantaneously interrupting the transmitter coil current, and a high-Q resonant circuit transmitter for carrying out said method.
