摘要: A biosensor system has a capsule with a housing configured for ingesting in a mammal GI tract, being cylindrical with domed ends. The housing forms an external space akin to a “cut-out” shape with two opposing transparent walls facing each other in the longitudinal direction and a base wall facing radially. An LED emitter emits at a number of wavelengths in time sequence, and radiation is detected by a photo-detector via the wall which forms a concave lens. An antenna is for wireless transmission of data to an external device and is in the form of conical spiral in an overall conical shape, located for optimum space efficiency in a domed end. A battery compartment is at the opposed end of the housing, separated from the antenna by the external space.

摘要: In some examples, determining a heart failure status using a medical device comprising one or more sensors includes determining a first value of a heart beat variability metric of a patient while an activity state of a patient satisfies an inactivity criterion based on a signal received from the one or more sensors, and determining, within a predetermined period of time after further determining that the activity state of the patient no longer satisfies the inactivity criterion, a second value of the heart beat variability metric while the activity state of the patient no longer satisfies the inactivity criterion based on the signal. A difference between the first value of the heart beat variability metric and the second value of the heart beat variability metric may be determined and the heart failure status of the patient may be determined based on the difference.

摘要: In one embodiment, a sensor includes a capsule having a cavity and a sheath, a transducer coupled to electronic circuitry in the cavity, and a clip outside the capsule. The capsule and the clip are configured to hold in vivo an object within an opening between the capsule and the clip. The transducer is configured to detect an incoming signal indicative of a physiological parameter of the object being held, and the electronic circuitry is configured to wirelessly transmit a signal containing information about the physiological parameter obtained from the incoming signal. The sensor is part of a measurement system to measure the physiological parameter. Another embodiment describes a method using the measurement system.

摘要: Systems and methods that can employ a bleeding sensor that uses an optical mechanism to detect blood in the patients GI tract are described. The bleeding sensor includes a substrate holding a centrally-located light detector with a broad sensitivity spectrum and at least two light emitters positioned radially around the centrally-located light detector, each light emitter configured to emit light of different primary wavelengths. The bleeding sensor has a gap between each of the at least two light emitters and the centrally-located light detector that accepts the contents of a patients gastrointestinal tract. An optical cap covers the centrally-located light detector and the at least two light emitters to direct the light emitted from the at least two light emitters through the gap and onto the centrally-located light detector.
