Abstract: A storage drive adapter may comprise an adapter board, which may include a first and second carrier module interface to removably engage with a first and a second storage drive carrier module, respectively. The adapter board may further include a dual ported storage drive connector to engage with a complementary storage drive bay interface. The dual ported storage drive connector may include a first port to provide a first signal path from the complementary storage drive bay interface to the first carrier module interface. Similarly, the dual ported storage drive connector may also include a second port to provide a second signal path from the complementary storage drive bay interface to the second carrier module interface.

Abstract: A server chassis installable in a server rack may include a lower compartment, an upper compartment, and an interconnector. The lower compartment may have a front end defining a front opening configured to allow for the passage of a server therethrough. The upper compartment may define a top opening substantially orthogonal to the front opening and may be configured to allow for the passage of a plurality of storage cartridges therethrough. The interconnector may have a first set of connectors communicatively coupled with a second set of connectors. The first set of connectors may be configured to mate with the server, and the second set of connectors may be configured to mate with the storage cartridges, such that the interconnector allows for the removal of the server without the removal of the storage cartridges.

Abstract: A system is provided herein. The system includes a cage and a handle mechanism. The handle mechanism includes a handle member and a cam member. The handle member is formed to rotate between a closed position, a top open position, and a bottom open position. In the closed position, a handle latch holds the handle in the closed position. In the top open position, the handle rotates a first amount to the top open position and engages with a top cam surface. Rotation of the handle member to rotate a cage a second amount. In the bottom open position, the handle member rotates the first amount to the bottom open position and engages with a bottom cam surface. Rotation of the handle member to rotate the cage the second amount. The cam member to control a rate of rotation of the handle member and the cage.
