摘要: According to one embodiment, a disk device includes a plurality of magnetic disks, a casing, a column, a rotary component, and a screw. The casing includes a base having an inner space in which the plurality of magnetic disks is accommodated, and a first cover attached to the base to close the space. The column with a screw hole, is located in the space and is attached to the base by being fitted into a recess formed in the base. The rotary component is located in the space, surrounds the column, and is configured to rotate about the column. The screw is fitted into the screw hole through the first cover.

摘要: According to one embodiment, a disk device includes a magnetic disk, a magnetic head, a first FPC, and a second FPC. The first FPC includes first terminals. The magnetic head is mounted on the first FPC and electrically connected to at least one of the first terminals. The second FPC includes a surface, second terminals on the surface, and a first ground plane. The second terminals are individually bonded to the corresponding first terminals with a conductive bonding material. The first ground plane covers at least one of the second terminals in a direction orthogonal to the surface. The second terminals include a first read terminal through which an electric signal representing information read from the magnetic disk by the magnetic head passes. The first ground plane is located apart from at least a part of the first read terminal in a direction along the surface.

摘要: Hard disk drives of the invention are wrapped in laminate for enhanced sealing of the hard disk drive. Laminate-wrapped hard disk drives of the invention comprise: an enclosed hard disk drive housing comprising a base and a cover enclosed around internal components for facilitating reading and recording of data at a desired location on at least one disk contained within the housing; and a laminate wrapped around the enclosed housing in an at least partially overlapping manner to form the laminate-wrapped hard disk drive and prevent undesired migration therethrough such that a sealed environment exists within the laminate-wrapped hard disk drive, wherein the laminate comprises a barrier layer and an adhesive layer for adherence of the laminate to the enclosed housing.

摘要: A computing device with a drive slot having an ear with a vertical receiving groove, a connector for engaging a corresponding connector of a hard disk drive (HDD), and a horizontal track with a pin insertion portion and a pin retaining portion. The computing device also includes a removable a HDD carrier for insertion into the drive slot having a bracket for securing the HDD and a track pin extending therefrom and configured to be inserted into the horizontal track via the pin insertion portion and configured to restrict the removable HDD carrier to horizontal motion when the track pin engages with the pin retaining portion. The HDD carrier includes a handle pivotably attached to the bracket with a guide pin for inserting into the vertical receiving groove and configured to alternate between a loading position and a locked position.

The vibration suppression mechanism for the electronic device includes a holding unit that is constructed such that a vibration absorbing member is used at a contacting portion on a first surface of a holding member and a contact member protruding from a second surface of the holding member which is opposite to the first surface is held by the vibration absorbing member, the holding unit supporting the electronic device via the vibration absorbing member used at the contacting portion on the first surface or the contact member protruding from the second surface, and a housing for holding the holding unit in a mounted state under a state in which the contact member protruding from the second surface or the vibration absorbing member used at the contacting portion on the first surface abuts against a holding structure.

The computer readable storage medium is not a transitory signal per se. The program instructions are readable and/or executable by a computer to cause the computer to perform the foregoing method.

摘要: A base member of a disk drive apparatus includes a window portion, a first groove, and a communicating groove. The window portion passes through a bottom plate portion of the base member in an axial direction. The first groove is defined in an upper surface of the bottom plate portion around the window portion. A connector includes a board portion and an electrode terminal on a lower surface of the board portion. The board portion is on the upper surface of the bottom plate portion to cover the window portion, the first groove, and a portion of the communicating groove. The communicating groove extends from the first groove up to a position outside of an outer circumferential portion of the connector. An adhesive layer is between the upper surface of the bottom plate portion and the lower surface of the board portion.
