    Abstract: In a side airbag device, a base member in which an airbag and an inflator are accommodated is fixed to a vehicle body. An outer covering member covers at least a front side of the base member to form a front-facing interior surface. The base member comprises: an inner portion located laterally farther inward within the vehicle body relative to the airbag; an outer portion located laterally farther outward within the vehicle body relative to the airbag; a rear portion located farther rearward relative to the airbag with respect to a front-rear direction of the seat, the rear portion connecting the inner portion and the outer portion; and a bridging portion made of a metal rod, and located apart from and farther frontward relative to the rear portion, the bridging portion connecting the inner portion and the outer portion.

    Abstract: A mobile object control device according to an embodiment includes a recognizer that recognizes a surroundings situation of a mobile object, and an unavoidable contact determiner that determines whether or not contact between the mobile object and an object likely to come into contact with the mobile object is unavoidable on the basis of a recognition result of the recognizer when there is the object around the mobile object, and the unavoidable contact determiner limits a recognition range of the recognizer to a predetermined range including the object when the recognition result of the recognizer satisfies a predetermined condition, and determines whether or not the contact between the mobile object and the object is unavoidable.

    Abstract: A vehicle seatbelt device according to an embodiment includes a seatbelt that restrains a part of the body of an occupant in a host vehicle, a tension adjustment mechanism that is able to adjust a tension of the seatbelt, a recognizer that recognizes situation in the vicinity of the host vehicle, an index value deriver that derives an index value indicating an overlapping degree between a predicted traveling trajectory of another vehicle which is recognized by the recognizer and approaches the host vehicle and a predicted traveling trajectory of the host vehicle, and a tension controller that controls an operation timing of the tension adjustment mechanism on the basis of the index value derived by the index value deriver and a degree of approach of the another vehicle with respect to the host vehicle.

    Abstract: An airbag cover adapted to be jointed with an airbag housing for covering an airbag housed in the housing. The airbag cover includes a door. In a circumference of the door, there are a hinge region which holds the door as opened, and a tearable region configured to break when pushed by the airbag. The tearable region includes a bridged tear region which includes perforations formed through the airbag cover and bridging regions disposed between the perforations, and is configured to break when the bridging regions break, and a thinned tear region which includes a continuous thinned region and is configured to break when the thinned region breaks. The bridged tear region is disposed at a leading end of the door as opened, distant from the hinge. The thinned tear region is disposed between both ends of the hinge region and both ends of the bridged tear region.

    Abstract: A passenger protection apparatus allows a bag body of an airbag unit to inflate and expand in a stable manner when an impact is input. The passenger protection apparatus includes an airbag unit that is arranged below an article storage box and that causes a bag body to inflate and expand in a direction of a front seat when an impact is input. The passenger protection apparatus further includes a guide member that covers a gap between a lower end of the article storage box and an adjacent member adjacent to the lower end when bag body inflates and expands.
