Abstract:
The invention relates to a straining apparatus for the separating of solid-liquid mixtures with a downwardly tapering straining basket, the basket inside wall of which has an inclination (.alpha.) increasing from top to bottom, the charging of material to be strained being carried out approximately tangentially at the upper end of the straining basket and the material to be strained flowing downwards helically with radii becoming narrower, the straining basket wall forming at least one helical, inwardly open channel, which is bounded at top and bottom by helical side walls, between which the channel base having straining openings is arranged, the radius of which base decreases from top to bottom and which is inclined with respect to the vertical axis by the angle (.alpha.) in such a way that, in feeding, the inclination is at first small and then increases constantly.
Abstract:
A coffee maker includes a housing which supports a fresh water container above a receptacle for the coffee. A resistive heating element is mounted in the container to heat the water. The bottom of the container is provided by a downwardly sloping element having an outlet to release heated water to a filter vessel which is releasably connected to the bottom element by a bayonet lock. The filter vessel has an upper rim which is pressed toward an annular shoulder on the underside of the bottom element to create a seal, so that a bubble forms beneath the bottom element when coffee is being brewed. The upper side of the bottom element has arms which mount a temperature-sensitive bimetallic snap element over the outlet. A resilient stopper is mounted on the snap element and is raised from the outlet by the snap element when the water is hot enough for coffee.
Abstract:
An apparatus for the separation of a liquid from a solid of a solid-liquid mixture has a tangential inlet screen section at the upper end of a vertical separating screen which decreases in diameter downwardly. The mixture is introduced tangentially onto the spiral screen section and then closed downwardly onto the separating screen. Solids are recovered at the bottom of the screen and the liquid passes through the screen and is collected outwardly thereof.
Abstract:
The present invention concerns a process for the manufacture of solid regenerated viscose fibers, comprising the steps of: —spinning a viscose spinning dope through a spinneret comprising spinning holes into a regenerating bath thereby forming filaments, —said viscose spinning dope having an alkali ratio immediately before spinning of from 0.7 to 1.0, preferably from 0.8 to 0.9, —at least part of said spinning holes having a circular orifice, —said regenerating bath containing—from 70 to 120 g/l, preferably 90 to 110 g/l sulfuric acid, —from 240 to 380 g/l, preferably 330 to 370 g/l sodium sulphate, —from 20 to 50 g/l, preferably 25 to 35 g/l zinc sulphate and said regenerating bath having a temperature of from 45 to 55° C., preferably 48 to 50° C., —stretching said filaments after leaving said regenerating bath in a secondary bath and/or in air at a stretching ratio of from 70% to 90%, preferably 80% to 90% of the maximum stretching ratio as hereinbefore defined and —treating said filaments with a fatty acid ester.
Abstract:
A method for calculating a route from a starting location to a destination location is described; it is characterized in that the route is calculated after specifying at least one pass-through destination location by way of at least one pass-through destination point, which is situated in a circumscribed area of the at least one pass-through destination location specified by a specified criterion. In contrast with the route calculation method known from the related art, the specified pass-through destinations are not part of the trip route, but instead, except for a specified circumscribed area, they function as vaguely specified interpolation points for influencing the route calculation.
Abstract:
A method of transmitting digitally coded traffic information is described, in which a digitally coded traffic message including location information is transmitted is standard format, preferably according to the TMC method. When the location information in the traffic message requires change and/or completion, a header is provided in front of the traffic message, which indicates that additional information including changes or additions to the location information in the traffic message follows the traffic message. A receiver for reception and analysis of the digitally coded traffic information is also provided, which analyses the traffic information including the additional information to obtain the changed or completed location information.
Abstract:
A navigational method and a navigational system for determining a route from a starting location to a destination location for a means of locomotion, especially for a motor vehicle, an airplane, or a ship, the route being calculated on the basis of a digital database, which contains predetermined path segments Wi having correspondingly assigned nodal points Ni, which connect the specific path segments Wi to each other, the specific weightings Gi being assigned to the path segments Wi and/or to the nodal points Ni. In this context, the weightings Gi that are used for the route calculation are varied as a function of the time of day.
Abstract:
A method for operating a navigation system for a vehicle, particularly for a motor vehicle, in which a travel route is calculated in a computing circuit on the basis of a location of the vehicle, a digitally stored map and a destination location, and is made available to the vehicle driver as an acoustical and/or visual message, where traffic information relevant to the travel route may be acquired via a receiver unit and a new travel time t resulting therefrom is calculated for the existing travel route with the aid of a predefined weighting factor Gf for a disturbance event and the length of a traffic disturbance Ls, and a travel time ta is calculated in the same manner for an alternative route, and in the event that the travel time ta of the alternative route is shorter than the travel time t of the travel route, is indicated to the vehicle driver. A correction value K for the weighting factors Gf is ascertained on the basis of the length of the traffic disturbance Ls, and a corrected weighting factor Gk is ascertained as a function of the correction value Kw and is used for calculating the new travel time t.
Abstract:
Waste edge pieces are separated from punched blanks, especially cardboard box blanks, by puncturing to engage followed by outward pulling. The puncturing action is performed by a pawl, having a serrated edge, which is driven in an orbital motion.
Abstract:
A device for precision grinding and polishing the surfaces of a workpiece such as the surfaces of molds or the like includes a base means on which the workpiece is movable in one plane. A stand supported on the base plate is provided with a carrying arm on which there is mounted an oscillating device operable to oscillate a tool. The carrying arm is arranged such that it may be adjustable in all three spacial coordinates. The oscillating tool serves as the carrier for the grinding medium for grinding and polishing a workpiece disposed on the base means.
