Abstract:
A tailgate for a vehicle has a supplemental tailgate that retracts within the tailgate and is extendable therefrom in order to provide multiple assist functions. The supplemental tailgate includes a pivotable molding, which mounts on a movable frame portion, and a latching assembly. When pivoted, the pivotable molding releases the latching assembly, allowing the supplemental tailgate to be moved to various extended positions. When the movable frame portion is in an essentially fully extended position, it can be rotated downward relative to the tailgate and a flip step pivoted to a use position in order to provide an assist step function.
Abstract:
An injection assembly for an injection moulding machine, comprising a screw (2) mounted in a plasticising cylinder and an injection piston (8) which moves the screw (2) in the longitudinal direction and which is mounted in an injection cylinder, wherein there is provided a supply conduit for the injection cylinder having a control valve (13) which can be shut off and there is provided an additional conduit (14) which by-passes the control valve (13) and in which are arranged a device (17) for reducing the amount of the pressure fluid flowing to the injection cylinder (7) and possibly a device (16) for reducing the pressure.
Abstract:
A capless refueling assembly for opening and closing a filler neck of a gas tank. The refueling assembly includes a housing attached to the filler neck. A lid is pivotally mounted to the housing between open and closed positions for facilitating the opening and closing of the filler neck. A valve mechanism is movably mounted to the housing between seated and unseated positions for selectively releasing pressurized fluid from the filler neck. The refueling assembly is characterized by an actuation device automatically moving the valve mechanism from the seated position to the unseated position while the lid remains in the closed position. Accordingly, any pressurized fluid within the filler neck is vented to a safe area, preferably a carbon canister, before the lid is moved to the open position.
Abstract:
A tailgate for a vehicle has a supplemental tailgate that retracts within the tailgate and is extendable therefrom in order to provide bed extender, box extender and step assist functions. The supplemental tailgate includes a pivotable molding, which mounts on a movable frame portion, and a latching assembly. When pivoted, the pivotable molding releases the latching assembly, allowing the supplemental tailgate to be moved to various extended positions. When the supplemental tailgate is in its stowed position, the pivotable molding may be aligned with the top surface of the tailgate in order to provide an esthetically pleasing appearance and provide paint scratch resistance. When the movable frame portion is in an essentially fully extended position, it may be rotated relative to the tailgate in order to provide the box extender and assist step functions.
Abstract:
A tailgate for a vehicle has a supplemental tailgate that retracts within the tailgate and is extendable therefrom in order to provide multiple assist functions. The supplemental tailgate includes a generally fixed guide portion and a movable frame assembly. The movable frame assembly includes a pivotable molding, which mounts on a cross member, and a latching assembly that mounts generally within telescoping supports, which selectively slide within the guide portion. When pivoted, the pivotable molding releases the latching assembly, allowing the movable portion of the supplemental tailgate to be moved to various extended positions. When the supplemental tailgate is in its stowed position, the pivotable molding is aligned with the top surface of the tailgate in order to provide an esthetically pleasing appearance and provide paint scratch resistance. When the movable frame portion is in an essentially fully extended position, it can be rotated relative to the tailgate in order to provide certain of the assist functions.

Abstract:
A vehicle tailgate lift system comprises an energy storage device located within a vehicle body and adapted to be pivotally anchored to the vehicle body at one end, a bellcrank arm that is pivotally attached to the energy storage device and rigidly attached to an actuation shaft that is coaxially aligned with a tailgate pivot axis, a pivot bracket assembly that incorporates a pivot bearing arrangement to facilitate a robust rotary joint about the tailgate pivot axis, and comprising a coupling arrangement between the tailgate and the actuation shaft, such that relative rotary motion of the tailgate and vehicle body results in linear movement of the energy storage device and maximum energy storage at the tailgate fully open position.
Abstract:
A modular fuel fuller system comprises a filler head, a connector, a filler pipe, a jumper hose and clamps. The jumper hose and clamps interconnect the filler pipe and a spud of a vehicle fuel tank. The filler pipe is a stainless steel filler pipe with a series of formed convolutions for increasing the flexibility of the filler pipe to allow easy installation and provide crash integrity to the fuel filler system within an automotive vehicle.
Abstract:
A supplemental tailgate extends from the tailgate frame of a pickup truck and is positionable in multiple orientations to provide a variety of uses, including as an extension of the pickup truck bed. The supplemental tailgate includes a cross member connected between two telescoping supports, which forms a part of the tailgate molding when stored within the main tailgate structure. A lock rod assembly interconnects the supplemental tailgate and the body of the pickup truck to stabilize the position of the extended supplemental tailgate when positioned perpendicular to the opened main tailgate. The lock rod assembly can be formed as flexible cables that can be housed within the cross member for easy deployment when needed. The lock rod assembly can also be formed as fixed length rods that are pivotally mounted on the cross member and stored within the cross member for easy deployment.
Abstract:
A tailgate for a vehicle with side walls and a bed has a supplemental tailgate that retracts within a tailgate frame and is extendable therefrom. The supplemental tailgate may include a guide system secured generally between the rear panel and the front panel of the tailgate frame, a movable frame assembly having two telescoping supports extendable from, pivotable relative to and retained by the guide system. The supplemental tailgate may also include a cross member connected to the two telescoping supports and extending therebetween. A lock rod assembly telescopically extends from and is pivotable relative to the cross member, with the lock rod assembly including a lock rod bar having a lock rod latch affixed thereto that is adapted to releasably latch to one of the vehicle side walls to thereby support the movable frame portion relative to the guide system when the tailgate frame is in the generally horizontal open position and the movable frame assembly is pivoted upward relative to the tailgate frame.
