    摘要: A correction information determination method may be used to control a recording apparatus. The recording apparatus includes a first conveyance unit, a second conveyance unit, and a recording unit arranged between the first and second conveyance units. The first conveyance unit is caused to rotate and record patterns for measuring a conveyance distance when a conveyance state changes from both the first and second conveyance units being utilized to the second conveyance unit being utilized. A conveyance start rotation phase of the first conveyance unit is acquired. Based on the conveyance distance measured based on the patterns, correction information about a rotation amount of the first conveyance unit is determined, the rotation amount used when the conveyance state is changed during recording by the recording apparatus.

    摘要: A suction recovery method of an ink jet recording apparatus which can realize a suction operation, in which suction recovery performance can be improved without enlarging a size of apparatus and a number of discharge ports can be held in a good state, is provided. When a negative pressure is generated in a cap which closes discharge ports of a recording head and ink is sucked from the discharge ports, the ink is sucked by a first suction step of sucking at a first, relatively low target negative pressure, which is sufficient to allow the ink which is not suitable for recording to flow from the discharge ports, and a second suction step of sucking at a second, relatively high target negative pressure necessary for sucking bubbles in the discharge ports (particularly, near the discharge ports).
