    摘要: An image forming apparatus, comprises an electrostatic image-bearing member for holding an electrostatic charge image and a toner-carrying member having a surface for carrying a magnetic toner thereon, wherein the surface of the toner-carrying member has an unevenness comprising sphere-traced concavities formed by blasting with particles with a definite spherical shape; the magnetic toner comprisaes 17-60% by number of particles of 5 microns or smaller, 1-23% by number of particles of 8-12.7 microns, and 2.0% by volume or less of particles of 16 microns or larger and has a volume-average particle size of 4-11 microns; the electrostatic image-bearing member and the toner-carrying member are disposed with a prescribed gap therebetween at a developing station; means for forming a magnetic toner layer on the toner-carrying member in a thickness which is thinner than the prescribed gap; and means for applying an alternating electric field for development with the magnetic toner at the developing station. The surface of the toner-carrying member comprising the sphere-traced concavities allows the forming of a uniform thin toner layer thereon when combined with the magnetic toner having a specific particle size distribution while the soiling of the surface is prevented for a long period of use.

    摘要: A toner having a negative triboelectric chargeability is constituted by at least a binder resin, a colorant and an organic metal compound. The toner is characterized by: (a) the organic metal compound is an organic zirconium compound comprising a coordination or/and a bonding of zirconium and an aromatic compound as a ligand or/and an acid source selected from the group consisting of aromatic diols, aromatic hydroxycarboxylic acids, aromatic monocarboxylic acids, and aromatic polycarboxylic acids, (b) the binder resin is a resin selected from the group consisting of (i) a polyester resin and (ii) a hybrid resin component comprising a polyester unit and a vinyl polymer unit, (c) the binder resin has an acid value of 2-50 mgKOH/g, and (d) the toner contains a TFT (tetrahydrofuran)-soluble content providing a GPC (gel permeation chromatography) chromatogram exhibiting a main peak in a molecular weight range of 3,000-20,000 and including 3-25% of a component having molecular weights of at least 5×105.

    摘要: An image forming apparatus, comprises: an electrostatic image-bearing member for holding an electrostatic latent image; a developing means for developing the electrostatic latent image to form a toner image on the electrostatic image-bearing member, the developing means including a non-magnetic color toner developing means for development with a developer comprising a non-magnetic color toner and a magnetic toner developing means for development with a magnetic toner, wherein the non-magnetic toner has a volume-average particle size of 4 to 15 microns, the magnetic toner contains 17 to 60% by number of magnetic toner particles having a particle size of 5 microns or smaller, 1-23% by number of magnetic toner particles having a particle size of 8.0-12.7 microns and 2.0% by volume or less of magnetic toner particles having a size of 16 microns or larger, and the magnetic toner has a volume-average particle size of 4-9 micron and a degree of aggregation of 50-95%; a transfer means for transferring the toner image formed on the electrostatic image-bearing member to a transfer-receiving material; and a cleaning means for blade-cleaning the surface of the electrostatic image-bearing member after the transfer.

    摘要: A printer head capable of increasing intensity of dot-like light irradiated onto a record medium without requiring to increase a drive voltage or the number of printer heads arranged. The optical printer head includes a luminous element including two luminous dot arrays arranged in parallel to each other at a predetermined interval in a sub-scanning direction. The luminous dot arrays each are constituted of a plurality of luminous dots which have a dimension in the sub-scanning direction increased by a predetermined magnification as compared with that in a main scanning direction and are spaced from each other at identical intervals in the main scanning direction. The luminous dots of the two luminous dot arrays are arranged in an offset manner while being deviated from each other in the main scanning direction by a distance equal to the dimension thereof in the main scanning direction. Also, a reduction optical system is arranged for carrying out irradiation of light emitted from the luminous dots while reducing a dimension of the light in the sub-scanning direction by a reciprocal of the predetermined magnification.
