    摘要: A magenta toner is provided which contains at least a binder resin, a colorant, and a wax, in which a maximum heat-absorption peak temperature as measured using a differential scanning calorimeter, a reflectance at a predetermined wavelength when measured in a powder state by spectroscopic analysis, and lightness when measured in a powder form are in specific ranges. A full-color image is formed using the magenta toner as a pale magenta toner in combination with a deep magenta toner. According to the present invention, it becomes possible to form a vivid image which has reduced graininess and roughness from a low-density region to a high-density region, ensures a sufficient fixing temperature region, has a color reproduction range wider that the conventional one, and has high transparency on an OHP sheet.

    摘要: To provide a color toner which is effective in mitigating contamination of a charging member, which is good at low temperature fixing in high-speed copying, and which is excellent in blocking resistance and electrification stability in continuous copying. The toner is characterized by a specific circularity distribution relative to its weight-average particle size and a controlled degree of surface-exposed magnetic iron oxide providing an extract solution with hydrochloric acid showing an absorbance of 1.0-2.5 at a wavelength of 340 nm. The toner is suitably produced by a production system including a rotary mechanical pulverizer and a one-pass surface treatment apparatus for continuously applying a mechanical impact force to pulverized toner particles therein.

The developer is characterized by having a number-basis particle size distribution in the range of 0.60-159.21 &mgr;m including 15-60% by number of particles in the range of 1.00-2.00 &mgr;m, and 15-70% by number of particles in the range of 3.00-8.96 &mgr;m, each particle size range including its lower limit and excluding its upper limit. As a result of inclusion an appropriate amount of the electroconductive fine powder represented by the particle size fraction of 1.00-2.00 &mgr;m, the developer is suitably used in an image forming method including a contact charging step of charging the image-bearing member based on the direct injection charging mechanism and also in an image forming method including a developing-cleaning step of developing the electrostatic latent image and recovering the developer remaining on the image-bearing member after the transfer step.

    摘要: A positively chargeable toner suitable to be carried on a cylindrical developer-carrying member having a resinous surface for developing an electrostatic latent image is formed from a composition including a binder resin, an imidazole compound and a colorant. The binder resin comprises at least one member selected from the group consisting of (i) a mixture of vinyl resin having a carboxyl group and a vinyl resin having a glycidyl group, (ii) a vinyl resin having both a carboxyl group and a glycidyl group, and (iii) a vinyl resin having a carboxyl group and a glycidyl group in a form reacted with each other. The imidazole compound is a compound having an imidazo unit represented by formula (1) below: wherein R1-R4 independently denote hydrogen or a substituent as specified. In some cases, two or more such imidazole units can be included in a combined form to provide the imidazole compound. The imidazole compound is effective for promoting a crosslinking reaction between the carboxyl group and the glycidyl group to provide the toner with improved fixability and anti-offset property in combination.
