摘要： According to an embodiment, a developing device, comprising: a developing unit configured to store an initial two-component developer including an initial toner containing silica externally added and a carrier and to form a toner image on an image bearing member with the two-component developer; a discharging section configured to discharge a part of the initial developer from the developing unit; and a developer supplying unit configured to supply a supply developer including a supply toner containing silica externally added and the carrier to the developing unit, the amount of silica added to the supply toner being smaller than the amount of silica added to the initial toner.

摘要： In an embodiment, a contact pivoting plate, which comes into contact with a developer swelled by a discharge mixer, is provided in a case. The contact pivoting plate is pivoted according to a detection result of a temperature and humidity sensor to change the magnitude of resistance by the contact pivoting plate with respect to a flow of the developer. The height of the swell of the developer is suppressed from fluctuating according to an environmental change. The fluctuation in an amount of an excess developer discharged from a discharge port is suppressed to replace a deteriorated carrier in a development container with a new carrier little by little.

摘要： A developing device that enables stable discharge of a developer from a developer discharge port, and an image forming apparatus having this developing device are provided.A developing device in which a developer is supplied to a developing roller and the developer is carried while it is stirred, includes: a developer passage through which the developer can be carried; a carrying member which is provided in the developer passage and has a rotary shaft and a rotary wing spirally provided along an outer circumference of the rotary shaft, in which the rotary wing rotates about the rotary shaft, thereby carrying the developer into a carrying direction along the rotary shaft, and which has a first section where the rotary wing has a constant characteristic in the carrying direction and a second section where the characteristic of the rotary wing gradually changes with respect to position in the carrying direction; and a discharge port provided at a position in the carrying direction that is in a section overlapping the second section or a section downstream of the second section in the carrying direction, and adapted for discharging the developer having a surface height of a predetermined value or more, from the developer passage.
