摘要: A wireless network in which wireless terminals associate with particular access points maintains information about the positions and associations of the terminals and calculates loads on access points. To provide increased bandwidth at a heavily loaded access point, terminals associated with adjacent access points are handed over to more distant access points, so that the adjacent access points become less active and generate less interference. The hand-over is initiated and carried out by the access points concerned, rather than by the terminal that is handed off. Loads can accordingly be balanced promptly and interference can be reduced.

摘要: A photosynthetic culture system has a culture bath holding an fluid containing plant microorganisms, carbon dioxide supplying means for supplying carbon dioxide to the fluid in the culture bath, light-conducting plate in the form of a flat plate placed oppositely to a light-receiving culture surface existing on the side of said culture bath, and light-receiving panel mounted on the upper end surface of the light-conducting plate. Further said light-conducting plate has the function of turning incident light from said light-receiving panel by right angles to conduct the light uniformly to said light-receiving culture surface of said culture bath.

摘要: A roller for running a flat belt is formed at its surface by an elastic body. Short fibers are mixed with the elastic body. The short fibers are averagely oriented in a direction radially or peripherally inclined to the roller with a small angle and protrude at their tip portions from the roller surface. Owing to a grip force of the protruding short fibers, the flat belt is running, while decreasing a friction coefficient and obtaining a stability to a variation of temperature and humidity. The short fibers may be oriented in a direction axially, peripherally inclined thereto with a specific angle. When a belt guide member is provided to the roller or flat belt, accurate running of the belt is performed.

摘要: A belt driving system having at least one roller for adjusting creep within a plurality of rollers. Creep detecting means provided at one end of the creep adjusting roller is rotated by torque of a flat belt in contact with the creep detecting means. Biasing means for biasing the flat belt toward the creep detecting means and roller-end displacing means for converting the torque of the creep detecting means to displacement of the end of the creep adjusting roller toward a predetermined direction so that the flat belt is moved to the direction contrary to the creep caused by the biasing means are provided. When the flat belt creeps, the creep contrary to the original creep is caused by the roller-end displacing means, and thus the original creep is compensated. Consequently, stable running of the flat belt is obtained and clear pictures of the electrophotographic machine can be also obtained.

摘要: A shock absorber control system comprises a plurality of switches for setting respective desired dampening forces, and controls a dampening force of a vehicle shock absorber linearly in accordance with a manipulation of one of the switches. The control system further comprises a height sensor for detecting a height of the vehicle and detects the dampening force of the shock absorber by the change of the detected height and corrects the dampening force of the shock absorber in accordance with a difference between the desired dampening force corresponding to the manipulated switch and the detected dampening force.

摘要: Database management involving obtaining a request of update of a record of a database including: (i) pages with records, each including data and transaction identification information (XID) that has a range that is divided by a predetermined range; and (ii) generation identification information (GID) that is increased when the XID's value exceeds the divided range, where the page includes a GID header indicating the earliest GID of the records of the page. Also, reading a page's GID header when switching pages, comparing the GID header with the present GID of the present XID, and performing a freeze process to the record having the XID included in the page's GID header when the GID header's value is less than the difference between the GID's value to which the present XID belongs and a predetermined value.
