Abstract:
A method of manufacturing thermosets such as epoxy resins includes adding expandable hollow microspheres, which expand with temperature as shown in the accompanying graph, to the base thermoset components in the liquid phase and applying heat treatment to the mixture so formed causing the micropsheres to expand during or after curing of the thermoset. This results in a toughening mechanism caused by compressive residual stress around the microspheres which significantly increases the specific fracture energy of the epoxy resin.
Abstract:
A low density syntactic foam comprising micro-spheres bound by a cured liquid phase binder is formed by allowing the micro-spheres (1) to rise to a close packed surface layer (4) in the liquid phase binder (2), and then draining excess liquid phase binder from the mould (3) before curing. The use of the buoyant force to achieve close packing of the micro-spheres is enhanced by controlling the viscous drag and curing time in the liquid phase binder (2) by selecting predetermined amounts of diluent, which is typically acetone in an epoxy resin binder.
Abstract:
A vehicle hood hinge includes a hinge arm contacted with a bottom surface of hood at its top surface and provided with a fitting hole and first and second hinge holes, the fitting hole being fitted into the bottom surface of the hood by a bolt, and the first and second hinge holes being formed at front and rear portions of one side of the hinge arm; first and second links being respectively fitted into the first and second hinge holes by a shaft pin at their top portions; a hinge support provided with a hinge hole at one side portion and securing holes at front and rear portions, the hinge hole being rotatably fitted to a bottom portion of the second link by the shaft pin, and the securing holes being fitted into a top surface of the vehicle at its bottom surface by a bolt; a slot longitudinally pierced in a lengthwise direction to detach the hinge pin fitted into the bottom portion of the first link from a center shaft of the hinge during an external impact; and a hinge positioning means formed in the slot to prevent the hinge pin from being detached from a normal hinge operation position. When a hood is in contact with a body of a walker due to a head-on collision accident between a vehicle and the walker during driving of the vehicle, the hood moves downwardly to absorb impact energy as a bottom end of the first link moves along a slot, thereby reducing injury of the walker.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for unifying multiple radio frequency identifications (RFIDs) are provided. The apparatus includes: a data arithmetic operator collecting RFIDs, storing the collected RFIDs, and repeatedly performing the collection and storage when a time out event occurs; a hash arithmetic operator concatenating the RFIDs, hashing the concatenated RFIDs, and outputting a hashed single value; a random number generator generating a random number used as an encryption factor to public-key-encrypt the single value; an RFID tag processor controlling locking/unlocking of the RFID tags; a public key arithmetic operator public-key-encrypting the single value using a predetermined public key and the random number as encryption factors and outputting a cipher text; and a radio frequency communicator converting the cipher text into a radio signal and sending the radio signal to a radio section. Information transmitted to a radio section is a cipher text obtained by public-key-encrypting the single value. Therefore, the number of the RFID tags belonging to a user is not exposed to an eavesdropper, thereby protecting user's privacy.
Abstract:
A method of transmitting at least one sub-packet in a wireless communication system is disclosed. More specifically, the method includes transmitting at least one sub-packet based on combination of resources from multiple domains, wherein the combination of resources indicate whether to maintain or change the resource arrangement for subsequent transmission.
Abstract:
A mobile communication terminal is provided comprising a receiver for receiving broadcast content over a first broadcast channel; and a controller for controlling reproduction of the broadcast content on a display of the mobile terminal. In response to detecting a first event, the controller receives a first request to delay reproduction of broadcast content in real-time. In response to receiving the first request the controller stores, in a storage medium, first broadcast content received between a time T1 and T2. In response to detecting a second event, the controller reproduces the first broadcast content. The controller stores second broadcast content received after a time T3. After the first broadcast content is reproduced, the controller reproduces the second broadcast content.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a method of compressing and decompressing an executable file in a mobile communication terminal capable of improving a compression mode of an executable file necessary for an operation of the mobile communication terminal to reduce a booting time of the terminal and to smoothly carrying out a wireless upgrade service. The method of the invention divides storage spaces in which executable files are stored into plural areas depending on properties of the executable files using a scatter loading file and selectively compressing each of the areas.
