摘要: Provided are a resin composition that enables simple formation of a film having excellent thermoelectric conversion characteristics and flexibility, and a film that is formed using the resin composition and that has excellent thermoelectric conversion characteristics and flexibility. A thermoelectric conversion material-containing resin composition contains (A) an insulating resin, (B) an inorganic thermoelectric conversion material, and (C) a charge transport material. A film is formed according to a commonly known method using the thermoelectric conversion material-containing resin composition. It is preferable that (B) the inorganic thermoelectric conversion material is in the form of fine tubes or fine wires. Single-walled carbon nanotubes are particularly preferable as (B) the inorganic thermoelectric conversion material.

摘要: A method of using a putty in a mechanical processing method includes dosing a binder component comprising at least one epoxy resin, dosing a hardener component comprising at least one NH-group-containing compound, mixing the binder component and the hardener component into a putty mass, and applying the putty mass on an undercoat. At least one of the binder component and the hardener component comprises synthetic hollow bodies so that the putty mass comprises 0.1 to 15 wt.-% of the synthetic hollow bodies relative to a total weight of the putty mass.

摘要: A polymer composite is provided that includes a plurality of heat-absorbing nanomaterials, a plurality of thermally-expanding microspheres, and an elastomeric matrix. In the polymer composite, the heat-absorbing nanomaterials and the thermally-expanding microspheres are dispersed within the elastomeric matrix such that the thermally-expanding microspheres expand and stretch the matrix upon exposure to a thermal stimulus. Methods of forming a thermally-expanding polymer composite are also provided and include the steps of dispersing a plurality of heat-absorbing nanomaterials in an evaporative solvent; combining the dispersion with an amount of an elastomeric material to create a mixture; adding an amount of thermally-expanding microspheres to the mixture; and polymerizing the mixture. Circuits including resistors comprised of the polymer composites are further provided.

摘要: The invention relates to blends of at least one single-site catalyst polyethylene and at least one single-site catalyst syndiotactic polypropylene with a specific syndiotactic polypropylene content φPP in weight percent relative to the total weight of both the polyethylene and the syndiotactic polypropylene contained in the blend corresponding to: ϕ PP = α 100 MI 2 PE MFI PP + MI 2 PE ( I ) with α being at most 1.40, MI2PE being the melt flow index of the polyethylene as measured according to ISO 1133 at 190° C. under a load of 2.16 kg and MFIPP being the melt flow index of the syndiotactic polypropylene as measured according to ISO 1133 at 230° C. under a load of 2.16 kg. The blends show improved impact properties at temperatures below 0° C. The invention is also directed to a process for producing said blends, as well as to articles produced from these blends.

摘要: A multi-purpose primer for painting applications for both interior and exterior usage acts as both a thermal insulator and a flame retardant for substrates and surfaces in industrial, commercial, military, and residential buildings and structures. The primer includes a plurality of hollow microspheres that shrink to a tightly-packed layer as the primer dries, and a flame-retardant additive, to provide an insulating, protective barrier. The primer produces a high quality, white-pigmented acrylic sealer which reduces heating and cooling requirements and costs. The primer is also a Class A-certified paint that retards flame spread by forming a burn-resistant layer that slows the spread of flames to insulate the underlying substrate and surface from fire.

摘要: Disclosed is method of preparing microspheres wherein the microspheres do not increase the self-extinguishing time of a composition they are added to by more than 5% and their presence does not increase a viscosity of the composition by more than 65%. The microspheres are coated with a very high level of from 80 to 90% by weight of a flame retardant, preferably aluminum trihydroxide. Unexpectedly, the presence of the flame retardant on the microspheres at this high level reduces the need to add additional flame retardant to a composition along with the microspheres. Also unexpectedly, the location of the flame retardant on the microspheres completely prevents the normally expected increase in viscosity of the composition based on the level of the flame retardant added. The microspheres find use in many compositions requiring flame resistance including weld through sealants and adhesives.
