An AP generates a trigger frame, where the trigger frame includes a first user information field, a part or all of a frequency domain resource indicated by a resource unit allocation subfield in a fourth user information field before the first user information field is located on a primary 160 MHz channel, and a part or all of a frequency domain resource indicated by a resource unit allocation subfield in a fourth user information field after the first user information field is located on a secondary 160 MHz channel. Abstract: This application discloses communication methods and apparatuses. In an example method, a physical layer protocol data unit (PPDU) is generated and sent. The PPDU includes multiple resource unit allocation subfields. The multiple resource unit allocation subfields include a resource unit allocation subfield corresponding to a multiple resource unit (MRU) to indicate that a 242-tone resource unit (RU) corresponding to the resource unit allocation subfield belongs to the MRU. A number of resource unit allocation subfields corresponding to the MRU in a resource unit allocation subfield corresponding to each 80 MHz subblock in a bandwidth for transmitting the PPDU is for determining or indicating a type of the MRU. A station can determine, based on the number of resource unit allocation subfields corresponding to the MRU in the resource unit allocation subfield corresponding to each 80 MHz subblock, which type of MRU is included in the bandwidth for transmitting the PPDU.

Abstract: In an information transmission method, a sending device sends a data frame to a receiving device. The data frame occupies a transmission resource block, a bandwidth occupied by the transmission resource block is greater than 160 MHz, and the data frame comprises resource unit RU allocation information. The sending device determines indication information based on a resource block size indicated by the RU allocation information and a location of a 160 MHz channel within the bandwidth occupied by the transmission resource block, with the 160 MHz channel having more data tones in the transmission resource block. The sending device determines a response resource block based on the indication information and the RU allocation information, and then receives an acknowledgment frame for the data frame from the receiving device on the response resource block.
