摘要： Data retransmission apparatus and method in a wireless relay communication system are provided. It is checked whether an Acknowledgement (ACK) message or a Negative ACK (NACK) message for data is received from a Relay Station (RS), which receives the data from a Mobile Station (MS). Scheduling information for transmitting the data is transmitted to the RS, when the ACK message is received from the RS. Errors are checked for in of the data, when the data is received from the RS. The RS is requested to retransmit the data, when the data has an error. Accordingly, since the RS retransmits only the error-free data to the BS, the BS can enhance the data reliability.

摘要： An apparatus and method for Automatic Repeat reQuest (ARQ) feedback polling in a wireless communication system are provided. The method for ARQ feedback polling includes transmitting at least one ARQ block to a receive end, polling ARQ feedback to the receive end using an extended header, determining if ARQ feedback information is received from the receive end within a lifetime of ARQ feedback, determining success or failure of transmission of the at least one ARQ block through the ARQ feedback information if it is determined that the ARQ feedback information is received within the lifetime of ARQ feedback, and polling ARQ feedback again to the receive end if it is determined that the ARQ feedback information is not received within the lifetime of ARQ feedback.

摘要： An apparatus and method for generating a Media Access Control (MAC) Protocol Data Unit (MPDU) in a wireless communication system are provided. The method includes reconstructing at least one MAC Service Data Unit (MSDU) according to scheduling information of the MAC layer and generating at least one MPDU data portion, adding control information to each MPDU data portion and generating at least one MPDU payload, adding a General MAC Header (GMH) to each MPDU payload and generating at least one MPDU, and transmitting the MPDU to a receive end. The control information includes at least one piece of MSDU information constituting each MPDU data portion. The GMH includes length information on the MPDU and Connection IDentifier (CID) information.
