摘要： The present invention provides a soldering iron with a graphite tip having two separate halves that are electrically isolated from one another. The tip halves are each electrically connected to the opposite sides of an electrical power source. When both halves of the tip are applied to an electrically conductive material, such as the material to be soldered, an electrical circuit between the tip halves and electrical power source is completed. The halves are of the tip are constructed from material semi-conductive electrically and having high thermal conductivity. Therefore, the tip can reach operating temperatures quickly. When the tip is removed from the joint, the electrical circuit is broken and the tip material may quickly cool to a temperature safe for human contact. Because electricity is only able to flow when the two pieces of the tip are electrically connected, no separate switch is required. The tip material permits higher power outputs than other battery operated portable soldering irons and permits over 300 joints for each full charge. The soldering iron also includes a light disposed on the case to illuminate the tip and joint. However, the light is controlled by a separate switch and permits the tool to be used to illuminate the operator's surroundings without the risk of damage to persons or property from a heated tip. The tool also includes an electrical lead connected in series with the lamp, the power source, and a continuity testing probe. This aspect of the invention permits the tool to function as a continuity tester.

摘要： A cooking device includes a gridiron; a tray positioned to catch material that falls from the gridiron; a cover formed to at least partially enclose the gridiron; a chimney having a chimney base and a chimney top, the chimney base and chimney top forming an airflow passage through the chimney; the chimney, gridiron, and cover arranged such that when the chimney base is placed over a heat source, convection occurs from the chimney base and out through the chimney top, to the cover, and from the cover toward the gridiron, the cover formed with a protruding inner wall above the chimney which forms a junction to channel substantially all of the convection in a motion outward toward sides of the cover and down toward the gridiron; the chimney base and the tray arranged such that when the chimney base is placed over the heat source, heat is radiated from the chimney base toward the tray; the chimney top and gridiron arranged such that when the chimney base is placed over the heat source, heat is radiated from the chimney top laterally across an upper surface of the gridiron; and the gridiron and the tray formed to at least partially surround the chimney top, the chimney top protruding through the gridiron and extending above it.

摘要： In accordance with principles described herein, portable heated seats, and methods and systems for using the same, are provided that overcome some (or all) of the problems commonly associated with existing seats. These portable heated seats are easily transportable, and are preferably provided with cushion material to compensate for various seating conditions that may otherwise be faced by a user. One or more heating elements, preferably made of flexible graphite felt, are also provided in each portable heated seat. The heat settings of the one or more heating elements are controlled by one or more on/off switches, open loop temperature regulators, pressure push switches, sensor switches, and/or fuse circuits. A backrest (similarly heated or not heated) may also be used in association with the portable heated seat. Various alternative embodiments are also disclosed.
