摘要： The tapered cutter guide includes a generally rectangular body having a long first edge and opposite thereto a long second edge. A depending rail is positioned along the first edge of the tapered cutter guide, the rail having an inner guide edge and an outer cutting edge with the inner guide edge and the outer cutting edge being spaced apart in parallel relation by a width selected to correspond to a desired sewing expanse. A tapered section is provided along the second edge to provide a sharp edge of the tapered cutter guide opposite from the first edge, the tapered section rising at an acute angle from the sharp edge towards the inner guide edge. There is also a flat top section between the first and second edge, and a flat inner section parallel to the top section adjoining the inner edge to the tapering section. An associated method of use is also provided.

The cutter may include a cutting wheel; a roller; a housing assembly including a first housing portion supporting the cutting wheel and a second housing portion supporting the roller; a shaft connecting the housing portions, rotation of the shaft causing relative movement of the housing portions along a shaft axis; and a knob connected to the shaft and engageable by a user to rotate the shaft, the knob having, in a plane perpendicular to the shaft axis, a non-symmetrical shape defined by opposite circular sector portions and opposite lever portions, each lever portion being engageable by a user to apply a force to the knob in a direction of rotation. The cutter may include a shaft with a radial shoulder preventing movement of the shaft from the cavity through an opening in the housing portion.

摘要： An apparatus for cutting a pattern in a sheet material includes a template having a channel with a predetermined shape. The apparatus also includes a cutting device, including a base having one or more projections configured to interact with the channel, a handle coupled to the base and moveable relative to the base between a first position and a second position, and a retractable rotary blade coupled to the handle. The retractable rotary blade is moveable between a refracted position when the handle is in the first position, and an extended position when the handle is in the second position. The retractable rotary blade is configured to cut a pattern according to the predetermined shape of the channel when the cutting device is tracked along the channel while both the handle is in the second position and the one or more projections are positioned within the channel.

The grooves define sharp cutting edges. In particular examples, the cutting edges are continuous, such as being defined by helical threads. The present disclosure also provides methods of dissecting a substrate of cultured cells. The substrate of cultured cells is separated into separated portions with a cutting tool. The cutting tool includes a rotatable shaft having a cutting blade which extends around the shaft. The cutting blade is rolled through the substrate to cut the substrate into portions. The portions are separated from one another to dissect the substrate.

The method includes positioning an operable end of a surgical rod scorer around surgical rod that has been previously affixed to a spinal segment via at least two pedicle screws. A portion of the surgical rod is scored with the surgical rod scorer. The scored surgical rod is grasped with a surgical rod bender. And, the scored surgical rod is bent such that the surgical rod separates along the scored portion of the surgical rod.
