Abstract:
The present invention provides a video signal conversion method for displaying a video signal having a 4:3 aspect ratio on a screen having a 16:9 aspect ratio by using a single clock. The video signal conversion comprises the steps of inserting two zero pixels between two pixels of the 4:3 video signal, .[.band.]. .Iadd.low .Iaddend.pass filtering the two pixels of the 4:3 video signal, such that .[.3/4 of the bandwidth of the pixels is passed and upper and lower parts of pixels are not passed,.]. .Iadd.the 3/4 band of the upper part and the lower part of the spectrum are respectively passed, .Iaddend.and sampling the filtered pixels by every fourth transition of a clock signal, and then displaying the sampled pixels on the 16:9 screen.
Abstract:
A method for interpolating an image signal using a slope correlation and the circuit thereof, in order to improve a picture quality by enhancing a vertical resolution. A slope correlation interpolation depending on a correlation degree between picture elements is performed for an image signal of a low frequency component, and a line interpolation is performed for an image signal of a high frequency component. Therefore, a vertical resolution is improved and hardware is decreased.
Abstract:
A method of constructing a database in a mobile communication terminal includes analyzing one of a file attribute and a database field type of the received file when the file is received, determining whether the analyzed one of the file attribute and the database field type is identical to a field type of the database in the mobile communication terminal, and updating a database table in the mobile communication terminal according to the determination.

Abstract:
Disclosed is a method of communicating image data to a second communications device from a first communications device while the first communications device is in an image communications mode of operation. The method includes the steps of checking the codecs of the second communications device when receiving an image communication; storing the codecs of the second communications device if the codecs of the first communications device do not match with the codecs of the second communications device; and encoding selected image data using one of the codecs of the second communications device when the encoded selected image data is to be transmitted to the second communications device.
Abstract:
A plasma display device including a plasma display panel (PDP), a temperature detector for detecting temperature of the PDP, a driver for applying a driving voltage to a scan electrode, and a controller for generating a control signal to control the driver according to the temperature. The driver includes a transistor and first and second resistors. The transistor is coupled between a first power source and the scan electrode. The first power source supplies a scan voltage to the scan electrode. At least one of the first resistor and the second resistor is a variable resistor having a resistance that varies according to the control signal of the controller. A low discharge due to high temperature can be reduced or prevented, and the number of power sources of the plasma display device can be reduced.
Abstract:
A cathode ray tube includes a tube having a panel having an inner phosphor screen, a funnel connected to the panel, a neck connected to the funnel, a deflection unit disposed around the funnel, an electron gun installed in the neck, and a scatter-proof unit installed on the panel and the funnel such that the panel shares the scatter-proof unit with the funnel for preventing the tube from breaking and scattering into many pieces.
Abstract:
A driving method of a plasma display panel including a plurality of first electrodes, a plurality of second electrodes, and a plurality of third electrodes formed in a direction to be intersected with the first electrodes and the second electrodes is disclosed. The method includes resetting the electrodes by applying a waveform having a predetermined voltage to the first electrode, applying a fourth voltage to the second electrodes for a predetermined period; selecting cells to be discharged by applying a scan pulse voltage to each of the first electrodes and the third electrodes; and alternately applying a plurality of sustain discharge pulses having a first voltage as peak value to each of the first electrodes and the second electrodes, wherein the step of applying the fourth voltage Ve stops the application of the fourth voltage Ve while the first sustain discharge pulse of the first electrodes continues.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a process for preparing fluoroacrylic acid ester using a pervaporation composite membrane, in particular, to a process for preparing fluoroacrylic acid ester performed in such a manner that water and unreacted fluoroalcohol generated in esterification between fluoroalcohol and (meth)acrylic acid in the presence of an acid catalyst are condensed and then passed through a pervaporation membrane to effectively remove water, followed by recycling the unreacted fluoroalcohol removed of water. The present process exhibits much higher conversion rate of fluoroacrylic acid ester, allows the decrease of energy consumption and could be performed in environment-friendly manner.
Abstract:
A vehicle mount apparatus has asymmetrical variable stiffness capabilities adapted to support an assembly body from both sides of a vehicle relative to a vehicle body. Thereby, minimizing vertical and horizontal vibrations generated by an engine in the assembly body and vibrations generated by the assembly body relative to the vehicle body during sudden starts and sudden stops and resulting in reducing trembling of the vehicle and improving ride characteristics of the vehicle.
