    摘要: A defibrillator method and apparatus wherein a patient's measured transthoracic impedance (TTI) is used to control the amount of energy contained in a defibrillation pulse applied to the patient. Prior to delivering a defibrillation pulse, the patient's TTI is measured by an impedance measuring circuit (11). The patient's TTI may also be measured during delivery of a prior defibrillation pulse. A microprocessor (23) uses the measured patient TTI to control the shape of the defibrillation pulse by controlling: (i) the phase duration of the defibrillation pulse; and (ii) the voltage level to which the defibrillator's capacitor bank (15) is charged. The defibrillation pulse shape is controlled so that the energy conveyed by the defibrillation pulse to the patient is near or exceeds a desired value. The desired value may be set by an operator via an energy selector (25). A switch (13) controls the connection of defibrillator electrodes (27a, 27b) to the impedance measuring circuit (11) and the capacitor bank (15).

The CPR assessment results in one or more CPR figures of merit that relate to temporal characteristics of the CPR relative to the duration of the event. In one embodiment, the CPR figure of merit represents a percentage of the event period during which chest compressions were administered to the patient.

This illumination capability may help rescuers reach a person in need of medical attention and apply medical assistance to the person.

    摘要: Product and process for heat transfer labeling. A transfer layer containing a design print is superimposed upon a contoured release layer that is desirably imprinted on a carrier. When the carrier, together with the release layer and the transfer layer are applied to an object to be labeled and heated, both the release layer and the transfer layer become molten and the transfer layer becomes adhered to the object being labeled. The release layer and the transfer layer are immiscible when in a molten state. The desired immiscibility can be acheived by the inclusion of a barrier layer between the transfer layer containing the design print and the release layer.
