An image processing apparatus capable of being remotely controlled by an information processing apparatus via a network includes a request transmission unit configured to transmit a remote control request to the information processing apparatus via the network, a detection unit configured to receive changing information for changing a setting value for the image processing apparatus from the information processing apparatus via the network and detect a content of the change of the setting value based on the changing information, and a display unit configured to display a message for prompting an operator of the image processing apparatus to determine whether to permit changing of the setting value according to the content of the change of the setting value detected by the detection unit.

When one of a plurality of storage units is not available, execution of operation modes can be switched according to an option status. A data processing apparatus that can respectively store data to a first storage unit and a second storage unit, includes a control unit configured to execute a first operation mode for limiting data processing using the second storage unit and enabling data processing using the first storage unit in a case where the second storage unit is not available and an option for storing encrypted data in the second storage unit is not used, and execute a second operation mode for limiting the data processing using the first storage unit and the data processing using the second storage unit, in a case where the second storage unit is not available and the option is used.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus stores setting information received from an external device in a temporary region, and compares device identification information acquired from the setting information with device identification information of the image forming apparatus. The image forming apparatus determines a reflection level used to reflect each setting included in the setting information stored in the temporary region, and stores the setting information in a database. Further, the image forming apparatus extracts a setting compliant with the reflection level and a reflection policy, using a plurality of import modules, and stores the extracted setting in a database that is actually used for control performed by the image forming apparatus.

Each page image of image data including a plurality of pages is divided into a plurality of areas by block selection, and meta information associated with at least one of the coordinate position, size, and type of each of the plurality of areas is held. As a combining condition, at least a direction to retrieve areas to be combined is set, area combining processing for combining two or more areas which satisfy the combining condition of the plurality of areas of the image data into one area is executed, and information associated with the areas of the image data including the combined area is stored.
