    摘要: In a fixing apparatus for fixing an optical connector to an optical cable having an optical fiber and wire members arranged around the optical fiber, the fixing apparatus includes first, second, and third holding members. The first holding member is adapted to be inserted between the wire member and the optical fiber. The second holding member is adapted to be disposed outside the wire members, the second holding member cooperating with the first holding member to tightly hold the wire members therebetween. The third holding member surrounding the second holding member and having an axial end portion adapted to be engaged with the second holding member in a rotation direction with respect to the optical cable. In addition, the third holding member has another axial end portion adapted to be connected to the optical connector.

    摘要: The head end surface of an optical fiber (2) and the head end surface of an optical fiber (12) are butted to each other in an alignment member (22) of an adapter (21). In the butting, because one of the members clasping the optical fiber (2) is a plate (4a) that is short, the optical fiber (2) is bent and buckled between the left end of the short plate and the right end of the alignment member. Members clasping the optical fiber (12) are a long plate (14b) and a V-grooved base plate (13), and the optical fiber (12) is therefore horizontally fixed between each of right ends of the long plate and of the V-grooved base plate (13) and the left end of the alignment member. This results that the head end surface of the optical fiber (2) and the head end surface of the optical fiber (12) are in tight contact with each other, achieving excellent optical transmission between both optical fibers.

    摘要: There is provided an optical connector device which prevents leakage of light until right before connectors are connected to each other and is small-sized by a reduction in space for housing shutters. The optical connector device is an optical connector device comprising a first optical connector and a second optical connector. When shutters for shutting out light from the optical connectors are collided with each other, the shutters move to positions where they do not shut out the light. Therefore, the first optical connector and the second optical connector are connected to each other. After moving, the shutter of the first optical connector and the shutter of the second optical connector are inserted into the second optical connector while remaining contacting each other.

    摘要: An adapter for coupling first and second optical fiber connectors having ferrules, respectively, comprises first and second members and a sleeve. The first and the second members can be detachably coupled to each other. The second member holds the sleeve. To prevent one end of the sleeve from being brought into undesirable contact with end surface of the ferrule of the first optical fiber connector when the first member connected with the first optical fiber connector is coupled with the second member, the first member is formed with first and second positioning holes, while the second member is provided with first and second positioning sticks. The first and the second positioning sticks project beyond the end of the sleeve. The first and the second positioning sticks are inserted into the first and the second positioning holes, respectively, while the ferrule of the first optical fiber connector is suitably inserted into the sleeve when the first and the second members are coupled together.
