Abstract:
An entry control system for a vehicle has a transmitter for transmitting a transmission request signal, a receiver for receiving a response signal including an ID code from a portable device, and a biometrics sensor for detecting a face image of a user. The system compares the face image provided by the biometrics sensor with registered face image. If these images agree, the system then activates the transmitter and compares the ID code received from the portable device with a registered ID code. If these codes also agree, the system allows the user to open a door and start an engine of the vehicle.
Abstract:
An image display device includes: a display part, a measuring instrument, a determination unit, a detection unit, a decision unit, and a notification processing unit. The display part allows a user to visually recognize a display image by projecting an image light corresponding to the display image on an eye of the user in a state where some ambient light reaches at least either one of eyes of the user. The measuring instrument measures brightness of the ambient light. The determination unit determines brightness of the display image. The detection unit detects the difference between the brightness of the ambient light and the brightness of the display image. The decision unit decides timing of temporarily stopping the use of the display part. The notification processing unit performs notification which prompts the user to stop the use of the display part at the timing.
Abstract:
An automatic locking system for vehicles includes an electronic control unit. If it is determined that an electronic key is not located in a communication area of an inside-cabin transmitter, the control unit determines whether or not the electronic key is located nearby. As a result, if the electronic key is determined as being located nearby, followed later by a determination that the electronic key is not located nearby, comparison history is stored in a memory. If it is determined that comparison history is stored in the memory and four entry-and-exit doors are closed, the four entry-and-exit doors are locked.
Abstract:
A CPU of a speech ECU acquires vehicle position information. If it is determined from the position information and map data stored in a memory that the vehicle has moved between areas where different languages are spoken as dialects or official languages, the CPU determines a language corresponding to the vehicle position information and transmits a request signal to a speech information center to transmit speech information in the language. By receiving the speech information from the speech information center, the CPU updates speech information pre-stored in the memory with the speech information transmitted from the speech information center.
Abstract:
Based on a user's instruction, a door control unit drives a door opening/closing motor for a pop-up operation. A door is thereby rotated to a predetermined angle, which is smaller than a fully opened angle. Therefore, even when a user holds stuff in his/her hands, the door can be easily opened up to the predetermined angle. When the door is opened at the predetermined angle, the user can insert a part of his/her body into a gap corresponding to the predetermined angle and then further open the door by pushing the door from the door inside surface.
Abstract:
When a master portable unit exists inside a vehicle compartment and a sub-portable unit exists outside the vehicle compartment, master portable unit disable control is performed and door lock control is performed. Thus, even if the master portable unit put in a bag or a jacket is not taken out, the door can be locked. Accordingly, when the user holds the sub-portable unit and goes out of the vehicle compartment while leaving the master portable unit in the vehicle compartment, locking can be performed. Further, even if an unauthorized user breaks the glass and enters the vehicle compartment when the user carries the sub-portable unit and exists outside the vehicle, operations such as starting an engine by using the master portable unit can be disabled.

Abstract:
When searching of a location of a vehicle is commanded, a vehicle search signal is transmitted from a portable device. The vehicle search signal includes an ID code of the portable device. When a vehicle side communication unit receives the valid ID code, the vehicle side communication unit transmits a vehicle side response signal to the portable device. The portable device computes a distance from the portable device to the vehicle based on a signal level of the received vehicle side response signal. A notifying device notifies the computed distance.

Abstract:
In a network device and a network system structuring a VLAN at the layer 2 level, a starting network device transmits a structuring packet including a port number corresponding to an address of a terminating network device and a single VLAN after having added thereto an address of the starting network device itself and a port number from which the structuring packet is outputted; a relaying network device transmits the structuring packet to which an address of the relaying network device itself, a port number to which the structuring packet has been inputted, and a port number from which the structuring packet is to be outputted are added; and a terminating network device transmits a setup packet in which port numbers are associated with the VLAN for each of the starting and the relaying network device to each of addresses of the starting and the relaying network device.
