A process for the verification of an antilock braking system (ABS) in a vehicle to check for correct connection of the component wheel sensors (3, 4, 17, 18, 19, 20), braking pressure modulators (7, 9, 12), and brake cylinders (5, 6, 10, 11, 13, 14) is proposed. The method can be used in a new installation of the ABS or when resuming operation after repair of the system. In a first step, the user causes a single sensed wheel to rotate. This actuates a testing mode in the ABS electronic controller (8). The electronic controller (8) then actuates the modulator belonging to the rotated wheel. From the response of the sensed wheel and/or the actuated modulator, the user recognizes whether the matching between the sensor of the rotated wheel and the actuated modulator is correct. This procedure is then repeated with the other sensed wheels.

A homogenizer comprises a homogenizing valve mounted to a pump block. The pump has multiple plungers housed in a set of pump chambers formed through a surface of the pump block. Sets of suction valves and discharge valves are positioned in valve bores formed through the block intersecting the pump chambers. During homogenization, each plunger reciprocates in a pump chamber to draw fluid through a suction valve and the pump chamber and discharge that fluid through a discharge valve and subsequently to the homogenizing valve. The homogenizer has a plurality of seals located along its fluid flow path and positioned to have a surface exposed directly to the fluid. As such, the homogenizer is characterized by the absence of recessed seals along the fluid flow path and provides an internal geometry in which microorganism growth and fluid residue buildup are minimized.

An anti-skid brake control circuit arrangement for improving the steerability of a vehicle during braking on a roadway having a different coefficient of friction on opposite sides of the vehicle, and including a plurality of sensing devices for sensing the rotational behavior of the vehicle wheels. A plurality of control circuits associated with the sensing devices for evaluating the rotational behavior of the braked wheels and for obtaining +b, -b, and .lambda. control signals for controlling solenoid supply valves which regulate the brake pressure on the wheels so that the braking pressure is applied in pulses to a wheel running with a higher coefficient of friction. The control circuits and the solenoid supply valves are interconnected by at least two operating circuits which include timing circuits wherein the braking pressure on the wheel running with a higher coefficient of friction which has not yet been controlled is alternately held constant and then is increased in response to the control signals of the control circuit of the wheel running at a lower coefficient of friction.

An antiskid brake control system in which an electronic evaluation circuit subject to dynamic behavior signals produced by a wheel sensor associated with one wheel of an axle controls modulator valve device in the brake cylinder fluid pressure conduit to adjust the brake cylinder pressure at the sensed wheel as well as at the non-sensed wheel of the axle independently of an operator controlled brake valve device. There is provided in alternate arrangements of the invention an electrical delay element via which either the supply or exhaust valve comprising the modulator valve device associated with the non-sensed wheel is controlled so that the non-sensed wheel brake pressure development is inhibited relative to the sensed wheel brake pressure to provide better stability of the non-sensed wheel. Another arrangement provides an electrical delay element via which the exhaust valve comprising the modulator valve device of the sensed wheel is controlled so as to inhibit the exhaust of brake pressure therefrom while the non-sensed wheel brake pressure is reduced in the usual manner under control of the evaluation device when a wheel skid condition of the sensed wheel is detected. As an alternative to the electrical delay elements in these arrangements, there may be provided a fluid pressure flow restrictor in the appropriate brake cylinder conduit, with the direction of restricted flow being controlled by a one-way check valve.
